A school near Riverhead, NY is looking for a Paraprofessional to work during their Summer session (hours 8:00-3:00).

As a Paraprofessional you will work one on one with a 7th grade special education student assisting with daily activities.  This will include keeping the child on task, assisting with academics, providing direction and redirecting behaviors as appropriate. 

Requirements:

- Demonstrate patience, flexibility and initiative in working with all students
- Assist in transitioning students from one activity to another
- Assist with the organization of materials used for initial and ongoing assessments
- Experience working with special needs children is highly preferred
- Passionate about helping children

Qualifications:

- High School/College diploma or equivalent
- Must be fingerprinted by the NYC DOE
- Must have worked with children in the past in some capacity
