Cloud9 Technologies is a Cloud Communications platform that provides voice and collaboration services for businesses.  We leverage cloud services including AWS, a wide array of web services, and advanced WebRTC technologies to transform how people communicate within and between enterprises.  We want to do for enterprise communication what WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger has done for consumer communication – with the security, control and agility needed by Fortune 500 companies.

Our company was started in 2014 by a team of motivated entrepreneurs, who are also highly successful industry veterans that have started several businesses and taken multiple companies through public offerings.  We are well funded, with investors including J.P. WHAT YOU WILL DO

In this role you will report to the Controller and be responsible for participating in the monthly close, assisting with audits and supporting the management team on projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with monthly close procedures and account reconciliations,

• Assist in preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including “Budget vs. Actual” variance reports.

• Assist in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.

• Prepare monthly account reconciliations

• Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls

• Maintain sub ledger/general ledger interface database for billing, inventory, etc.

• Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned

THE RIGHT BACKGROUND

Qualifications/Experience:

• 2 to 4 years general accounting and/or audit experience.

• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) 

• Thorough understanding of Financial Statements and financial reporting, including consolidations and foreign currency translations/transactions

• Attention to detail and problem solving skills

• Located in or around the New York / Tri-State area

• Strong analytical and accounting skills

•  Understanding of data analysis, budgeting and forecasting

• Expert knowledge of MS Office, especially excel

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages for general ledger and financial reporting.

• Familiar with relational database concepts and strong understanding of systems and applicability of financial reporting systems and Enterprise Resource Planning

• Ability to further develop and optimize financial reporting modules for scaling the business

• Process oriented with sense for automation and innovation

• Ability to participate in and deploy end user training

• Oracle/ NetSuite preferred but not required

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills

EDUCATION and TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required

• CPA required
