La Rabida Children's Hospital is hiring a full-time, HR Generalist for the Human Resource department in Chicago, IL.

Job Summary:
This position provides professional and administrative support for all functional areas of the Human Resources Department.

Essential Human Resource Generalist Functions:
  • Manages Tuition Assistance Program
  • Assist with administration of FMLA/LOA/Workers Compensation
  • Support Human Resources in planning, implementing, communicating, and administering human resources programs, policies, and practices.
  • Participates in various HR cross-functional initiatives including performance management, employee engagement, regulatory compliance, training, LMS, etc.
  • Provide support to HR Manager on employee and labor relations investigations.
  • Collaborates with the HR Manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, to determine salary, salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Coordinate the Job Descriptions, Performance Evaluations, Forms, Employee Benefits, and Retirement Plans to ensure all data is up to date.
  • Takes a lead role in the Employee Engagement Survey ensuring communication initiatives are in place with active follow-up to all Managers from go-live, during the post-analysis, and action planning phases.
  • Recommends and implements HR policies and procedures ensuring the Handbook is reflective of changes.
  • Collaborates with Centers of Expertise (Employee Relations, Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, Talent Acquisition, etc.) and oversees project work to ensure cohesive delivery of HR programs and services.
  • Analyzes data to determine patterns or trends and determines appropriate strategies and implementation plans to affect change and achieve goals.
  • Create monthly reports, review, and verify the licenses for all patient care professionals ensuring they are renewed and/or active on a timely basis.
  • Create monthly reports, review, and verify auto insurance, and that all certifications are renewed and/or active on a timely basis.
  • Supports employee events and programs sponsored by the Human Resources department. Recommends process changes ensuring all programs and events are implemented successfully.
  • Keeps up to date on regulatory compliance, industry standards, and specific HR-related skills and knowledge to perform successfully in the role.
  • Implements all new and ensures current regulatory ordinances are in place.
  • Provides support in Employee and Manager training.
  • Provide support in new hire orientation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we need from you:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources or related field.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) preferred.
  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience with expertise in multiple areas of HR highly preferred.
  • Current knowledge of federal/state regulations.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, database management, and internet. Workday experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
