The Senior Applications Engineer – Salesforce Administrator (Sr. AE – Salesforce) is a member of the primary team responsible for the engineering and day to day support of all core and mission critical enterprise software applications for Moda Health. The Sr. AE – Salesforce is primarily responsible for technical support, release planning, and technical implementation of the Salesforce software application.  This position acts in a technical role, supporting business efforts to move business processes to Salesforce, improve the reliability of the system data, increase reporting capabilities, integrate sales campaigns, and improve overall usability and adoption.  Responsibilities will include all technical aspects of Salesforce administration, including but not limited to: Designing and implementing solutions, troubleshooting, initiating, and managing support tickets, and cross-training peers.  The position will work closely with system architects, software engineers, system analysts, and outside vendors, supporting the administration of multiple Moda Health business applications.

The salary range for this position is $89,734.13 - $116,679.91 (depending on experience)

Primary Functions

  1. Function as a technical expert, technical liaison, and system administrator for the Salesforce CRM system, while also acting as backup support for other business applications.
  2. Management of up to eleven non-production and production Salesforce environments.
  3. Understanding of basic triggers/Apex code knowledge.
  4. Manage all aspects of application security, user and license management, roles, profiles, permissions, public groups, OWD, sharing rules.
  5. Understand the company’s policies, products, data, and information to ensure Salesforce is optimally configured.
  6. Develop and maintain comprehensive understanding of Salesforce.com administration tasks including page layouts, email alerts and communications, data management, approvals, workflows, reports, dashboards, tasks, and events.
  7. Own the communication of platform changes, and execute proactive system maintenance, including Security Reviews, Release Updates, Health Check, and Optimize.
  8. Collaborate with developers, architects, system analysts, and sometimes users, to identify and implement best practices, and opportunities to streamline procedures.
  9. Develop and maintain technical documentation as it pertains to all aspects of business application administration.
  10. Support release pipeline configuration and production deployment activities in Azure DevOps.
  11. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred or equivalent experience
  2. Minimum of three years administering CRM technology software (understanding business requirements, engaging with vendors on patching and upgrades, technical configuration, system optimization, troubleshooting, etc.).  Salesforce.com or comparable CRM experience required.
  3. Strong technical skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  4. Computer skills, including intermediate MS Office Suite applications with advanced Excel skills.
  5. Demonstrated ability to gather and organize technical or project requirements for implementation of large projects.
  6. Demonstrated track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound critical thinking skills.
  7. Strong customer service orientation.
  8. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  9. Effective analytical and problem-solving capability.
  10. Self-motivated and directed; able to take initiative with only limited or ambiguous details.
  11. Highly organized with keen attention to detail.

Working Conditions
  • Office or remote office environment with extensive close PC and keyboard work, constant sitting, and phone work. Must be able to navigate multiple screens. Work in excess of 40 hours per week, including evenings and occasional weekends, to support a 24x7 on call rotation and other business needs.
