Part-Time Trauma Therapist 

 

La Rabida Children’s Hospital is hiring a part-time Trauma Therapist for our Behavioral Health Division and Chicago Child Trauma Center (CCTC) in Chicago, IL.

Job Summary:  

Provides outpatient psychological services to children who have experienced psychological trauma and their families. May provide outreach services as needed. 

 

Essential Trauma Therapist Functions: 

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - 80% 

  • Provides, direct abuse- and trauma-focused outpatient psychological services, including clinical assessment and short-and long-term psychotherapy to children exposed to the full range of potentially traumatic events 

  • May be cross-trained to provide other clinical services 

  • May provide clinical services to other populations as warranted by demand for services 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: - 20% 

  • May provide outreach and training services as needed 

  • Provides assessment and quarterly reports, treatment plans, progress notes, billing, etc. within the proscribed time frames 

  • All reports, progress notes and other documentation completed in a timely basis 

  • May participate in CCTC Peer Support Group, staffing, case conferences, etc. 

  • Completes and submits monthly service forms 

  

What we need from you:  

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, MSW or MA in Clinical/Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or related field required 

  • Bi-Lingual Spanish Speaking Highly Preferred 

  • LCSW (for social workers), LCPC (for counselors) or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (for psychologists) Preferred 

  • All candidates must have substantial training and experience doing diagnostic and therapeutic work with children who have experienced trauma. Experience and a demonstrated commitment to serving urban families of color are essential 

  • Excellent writing/communication skills and computer literacy are essential. Must have training and experience with a variety of treatment techniques with children who have been abused. Experience with child-parent psychotherapy and children with sexual behavior problems preferred.
  • Evening and weekend hours may be required as well as travel to office located at 1525 E 55th St.


Bi-Lingual, Spanish Speaking preferred
