Conexess Group is aiding a client in their search for an Accounting Manager to work in a hybrid capacity in Calera, AL. This is a direct hire opportunity with a competitive compensation package. This position will be 100% onsite in Calera, AL. 

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced individual for an Accounting Manager position to assist with the management of all the accounting functions. We are looking for an individual with a good knowledge of QBooks online and Sage 100 or equivalent accounting systems and who has a firm understanding of GAAP reporting and accounting processes and can lead and oversee staff that process AR, AP, payroll, and job costing.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the accounting function to ensure all accounting processes and transactions are in accordance with GAAP.
  • Assist in establishing appropriate internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Maintain general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee all financial recording and reporting processes relating to all cash receipts, A/P, A/R, payroll, and job costing.
  • Ensure proper processing and recording of weekly multi-state payroll, weekly tax, and payroll deduction payments.
  • Manage and oversee company credit card accounts and several other company charge accounts.
  • Calculate and file monthly sales and use tax returns as required.
  • Knowledge of Percentage of Completion and construction accounting and job costing.
  • Ensure all required quarterly and annual city, county, state, and federal tax forms and annual 1099’s, W-2’s, and various monthly and weekly financial reports are completed accurately and timely.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities by defining problems, analyzing data, identifying options, and executing best practice solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned to assist in the overall production of the Financial Reporting for the Subsidiary to the parent.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Three to five years relevant experience with full cycle accounting periods with 2 years of accounting management experience at a minimum
  • Advanced knowledge of Qbooks online and Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel). Knowledge of Sage 100, Google Workspace and Sales Force is a plus.
  • Experience with GAAP Financial Reporting Requirements
  • Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Management
