Title: Sr Systems Engineer
Location: San Diego
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities: Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) throughout all stages of development, integration and test, and system delivery of CANES upgrades.
  • Support CANES solution development, test, and integration
  • Develop architecture for containerized workload backup and recovery solution
  • Test and develop solution in DEVINT and formal TEST lab environments
  • Develop automation scripts to streamline the installation and configuration
  • Support development, test, and integration of CANES logging solution
  • Support development, test, and integration of CANES system management solution
  • Support development of installation guides for CANES.  This includes automated installation and configuration as well as manual procedures

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physical Science
  • Secret clearance
  • DoDI 8570.01 IAT 2 Certifications required (includes OS cert)
  • Minimum of six (6) years experience supporting the engineering of Information Technology systems for a DoD or Government Agency
  • Minimum of four (4) years experience with Linux based operating systems (CentOS/RHEL 6.x/7.x/8.x) to include administration, installation, updates/patches, and troubleshooting
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience with network technologies, including firewalls, routers, and switches
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience with automation tools for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management such as Red Hat Ansible and Hashicorp Terraform
  • Familiar with:
  • Virtualization technology – KVM, VMware, Red Hat Openshift Virtualization (QEMU/KVM)
  • Container technology – Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
  • Deploying and managing a Kubernetes/OpenShift cluster
  • Cluster storage solutions such as Openshift Container Storage/Ceph, VMware vSAN
  • Provisioning and managing persistent volumes for container workloads
  • Handling different data storage types – File system, block, object storage
  • Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, virtual networks – i.e., Open vSwitch, VMware vSwitch)
  • Deploying Kubernetes/OpenShift on bare-metal and hypervisor layer
  • Deploying Kubernetes/OpenShift in cloud-based environment – AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Experience with DevOps tools and best practices
  • Red Hat® Certified Engineer (RHCE) and/or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certifications preferred

Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and at least 5 years of experience with NGA imagery and data repositories, products, data types, and uses.
  • Knowledge and at least 5 years of experience with GIS-related applications and tools.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physical Science
Clearance: Secret Clearance
