**THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION**


Summary of Job

Under the general direction of the Events Manager, this position coordinates and supports the work events of the functional unit to include but not limited to managing special events, projects and initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

·Supports Events manager with projects and tasks owned by the Marketing department.
·Coordinates planning, routing and mapping of special events transportation, and works closely with Marketing.
·Assists in operational activities relative to special event services.
·Coordinates activities with Marketing/Print Shop, Planning and External Affairs in the development of signs, brochures, etc.
·Maintains Standard Operating Procedures for special projects and events.
·Provide reports to management as necessary.
·Prepare processes for internal and external engagement. 
·Assist with Media buys for the Authority, negotiating, contracting, purchasing and following on all ad placements in all media.
·Support special projects and initiatives such as JTAMobilityWorks, FCF, JRTC, U2C, safety, fare or service changes etc…
·Assist the Event Manager with Design support when needed.
·Builds relationships and creditability through meetings and communications with all affected departments within the Authority.
·May require working extended hours and weekends.
·Communicates with co-workers, management and others in a courteous and professional manner.
·Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


·Must have marketing and branding experience.
·Excellent project management and organizational skills.
·Must possess leadership characteristics; including but not limited to, customer focused, innovative, strategic thinker and a team player.
·Must have planning and routing experience as pertains to special event oversight.
·Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
·Ability to function independently without direct supervision in a multi-task environment, as well as, part of a team.
·Ability to write routine reports and prepare detailed cost analysis of operational impact
·Ability to make verbal presentations before a group, as well as, communicate effectively in writing.
·Excellent knowledge of transit operations and procedures.
·Ability to interact with various local agencies; i.e., City of Jacksonville, JEDC, JSO, transit agencies, FTA, and other city and state agencies.
·Ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines and competing priorities.
·Ability to communicate and interact with audiences at various levels.
·Ability to lead a team, or be a participant, regardless of position within the Authority.
·Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, early mornings, and weekends.


 
Required Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or closely related field and a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience. A combination of experience and training may be substituted for a degree. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.
