Compounding Supervisor and Process Lead
The Compounding Supervisor and Process Lead is responsible for ensuring that the compounding schedule is met when the compounding manager delegates this duty. This position also includes acquiring an understanding of the operating principles of all compounding equipment and directing compounding personnel to priorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following
As a Compounding Supervisor
- Trains Compounders on new processes and procedures.
- Ensures that the schedule of compounded bulk batches is met when delegated by the compounding manager and ensures that the bulk is manufactured according to customer specifications and also follows FDA, GMP, and OSHA guidelines.
- Ensures that all documentation associated with compounding meets all FDA, GMP, and internal quality policies.
- Ensures that compounding equipment is maintained and requests repair when necessary.
- Performs Non-Conformance investigations as directed by the Compounding Manager.
- Able to access and resolve issues that may arise during the shift.
- Manages conflicts and performs disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Assist in IQ/OQ/PQ, pilot/trial/first production scale-up batches, and validations.
- Lead projects when assigned, coordinating gate meetings, or special assigned tasks.
- Work closely with the R&D department to transition lab batches into mixing instructions.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software.
