This is a key role in our sales cycle – a sales engineer acts as the technical expert in presenting the value proposition and architecting a cost effective, quality solution that meets the customer needs. You act as an engineer one day, a presenter another day, a business consultant solving communications and network issues the next day. It is not a dull or same routine every day type of job. If you are interested in meeting others, traveling, perhaps moving to another part of the country or just don’t want to be living in a cubicle, this may be the job for you.
You will be trained at our Calabasas HQ on all topics necessary to be successful in your role. This is a hands on role; you will learn the basics of networking and communications, learn about building and configuring networks, troubleshooting networks and working with software, hardware and test operations to learn the functions and how they impact the customer experience. Along the way, you will go out to the field and be mentored by senior system engineers on the art of the sales engineer – how to present, how to talk to customers and how to become comfortable with calk talks and other formats to convey information.
We are looking for outgoing, energetic individuals that are willing to learn, grow and be on a winning team with your account manager (sales leader). We are also looking for people who have a 3.0 or greater GPA in IT, business, engineering or other suitable major. Ideal candidates would be CCNA and/or CCNP certified to demonstrate basic background in networking. As part of the training program, you may be asked to move to another part of the country after the internship is completed So relocation after the training program may be necessary. The company will pay for the relocation costs.
While in the training/intern phase, you will be paid as an hourly/non exempt employee with no benefits. Once you are placed in a regular position, you will earn a decent base salary plus a sales commission (the plan is tied to the sales in your area) . Benefits once hired on a regular basis include medical, dental, vision care, (with an employee co-payment), 401k savings plan with a 6% company match and 22 days of PTO per year. We also offer tuition reimbursement, a great company culture and a fun work atmosphere.
Qualifications- Pursuing a technical degree (AS or BS) in computer science, engineering, networking, CCNA a plus
