National Senior Director of Sales


We are working with a rapidly growing organic company that is looking for a National Senior Director of Sales. This role will work with the President of the company to support, develop, and execute all sales strategies while managing the sales team. Please apply if interested!


Job Responsibilities:

  • Grow, manage and support the Sales team, including Planning, Trade Marketing, Category Management and Field Sales (Conventional, Natural, Club, and International). This includes time spent in the field meeting with customers
  • Provide day‐to‐day oversight of sales teams, maintaining focus on the company’s overall strategic goals
  • Identify key areas for sales team member development, create and execute a plan for ongoing training
  • Lead the Sales team in the development and delivery of the sales plan, ensuring growth targets are met (top and bottom line) and key projects are implemented in line with longer-term strategies.
  • Translate brand strategies into actionable tactics for the sales team, and develop standards to measure success
  • Analyze data and develop plans to improve broker sales force and internal sales team effectiveness

·        Hands-on managing and developing of all major national key accounts to improve ROI while working to grow current customer base

·        Maintaining and fostering relationships in existing distribution channels and market segments

  • Manage sales P&L and trade spend, negotiating promo deals with buyers and distributors
  • Target new business opportunities and advance relationships to achieve growth
  • Travel to buyer meetings to present our brand and product portfolio in person (when travel begins again)
  • Work with our national broker and distributor partners to secure and expand placements
  • Build sales presentations and other sales materials in collaboration with our Marketing team
  • Demonstrate firm understanding of industry trends and market conditions, and devise strategies to build brand equity and competitive advantage
  • Partner with the Supply Chain team to ensure clear understanding and delivery of customer requirements.
  • Provide feedback to the business regarding the products and services that are needed in order to stay competitive in the market.
  • Report on sales performance monthly


Required Skills/Qualifications:

·        Minimum of 10+ years of experience selling CPG products, ideally with experience working through KeHE and UNFI

·        Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing both natural/organic retailers as well as conventional retailers

·        Experience building strong teams and developing people

·        Proven ability to build effective relationships with all departments and employees in a collaborative team-oriented environment

·        Experience managing, optimizing and reporting against an annual trade-spend budget

·        Experience personally managing food broker teams both on a regional and national basis

·        Experience introducing new products on a regional and national basis and working for an emerging brand

·        Comfortable analyzing, understanding, and presenting syndicated data

·        Understands how to best take advantage of omni-channel opportunities in partnership with conventional retailers

·        Intelligently prioritizes larger accounts while also believing no account is too small

·        Consistently displays a positive, cooperative, self-motivated, and professional attitude

·        Hard working, loves to hustle with a strong sense of urgency

·        Must have top-notch business acumen, personal and business motivation, and ethics

·        Brand loyalty, passion, and a hunger for success

·        Self-motivated enjoys working remotely and independently

·        Excellent written and verbal communication

·        Ability to travel 30-40% (once travel opens)
