Position Summary:


We are working with a growing artisan food company that is looking for a high-level Director of Operations. This role will build capacity and scale supply chain operations to support and enable company growth plans. This role is responsible for leading and driving value and results in sourcing, procurement, and long-term capacity planning. The Director will have stakeholder collaboration skills to handle a high growth environment and is a self-starter. This role reports to the COO and President. Please apply if interested.


Job Responsibilities:


·        Develop sourcing strategies for direct materials and services

·        Apply contemporary sourcing methods to deliver total cost value creation and supply assurance

·        Drive strategic sourcing into practical contracting strategic consistent with business objectives and negotiated outcomes

·        Address business, market, and supplier risks with well-defined terms, conditions contingencies

·        Identify root causes and drive for efficient resolution on issues at hand by working across both internal and external stakeholders.

·        Collaborate with co manufacturers to execute purchasing for sourcing materials

·        Develop long term capacity plans for suppliers and co manufacturers to meet business growth objectives

·        Define capital needs and partner with finance on associated capex plans for manufacturing equipment at co-manufacturing partners locations

·        Identify and execute opportunities to improve COGS, inclusive of supplier integration and innovation, operational debottlenecking, and supply chain cost improvement projects

·        Coordinate with innovation team on supply chain readiness for new products

·        Lead operational capex for commercialization of new product development launches

·        Develop long term capacity forecasts



Job Requirements:


·        Bachelors Degree required; preference in Supply chain, Business, Engineering

·        8+ years of supply chain experience in a food manufacturing/CPG environment - experience with perishable products is a plus

·        5+ years’ experience with co-manufacturers, maintaining and improving relationships

·        Past experience with packaging procurement in CPG environment

·        Depth of experience in spend analytics, strategic sourcing, and supplier performance management

·        Track record of results and long-term value creation in optimizing supply chains in rapidly scaling environments

·        Past leadership experience in a matrix organization

·        Understand supply chain KPIs – customer order fill rates, inventory turnover, excess and short dated inventory management

·        Must be expert level financial, quantitative and analytical skills

·        Embraces fact-based decision making

·        Past experience working with third party manufacturing and logistics providers

·        Posses a strong business acumen and negotiation skills

·        Strong project management skills

·        Excellent communication skills

·        Ability to travel 20% domestically
