Position Summary:

We are working with a food tech startup that is looking for a new created high level operating role that will be apart of the executive team. This position is with a company that empowers its customers to eat healthy while improve the sustainability of our food system. The Senior VP of

Operations will oversee all aspects of our operations, including food innovation, food manufacturing, and last mile distribution. This role will oversee a diverse team and be responsible for all overall food and fulfillment strategy.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

·        Lead operations strategy, processes & structure to achieve company strategic initiatives, goals, & targets – including all parts of the end-to-end operation from procurement through meal production through pack out and last delivery with food and employee safety at top of mind

·        Design & execute operational plans and processed to maximize capacity, quality & safety

·        Minimize costs through effective utilization of employees, equipment, facilities, materials and capital

·        Build operational capacity to enable rapid yet responsible growth.  Help design strategies to bring company operations to the next level, including automation, new partners, fulfillment strategy and scaling the team

·        Measure operational metrics & KPIs & build a data driven culture of high performance, accountability, quality & food/workplace safety in operations

·        Design & help execute plans to launch new or improved products, initiatives, & distribution channels

·        Lead growing in house logistics team & 3PL partners; set the vision, strategy and standards

·        Provide strategic direction for food safety and compliance (including SQF, GMPs, HACCP, ect0 and the supply chain from purchase order to delivery

·        Drive a continuous improvement philosophy and culture

·        Lead culinary innovation pipeline and overall food strategy

·        Ensure R&D activities are aligned with strategic objectives, improving market position and optimizing profitability and quality

·        Develop product commercialization objectives for new products - inhouse and through co manufacturers

·        Use customer data and market trends to improve existing products, evaluate new opportunities, and increase customer affinity and moments of inspiration and delight

·        Innovate on better and more sustainable meal design, sourcing, and packaging that serve to improve the customer experience and reduce impact on environment

·        Develop and execute short- and long-term plans in line with overall company goals to drive operational improvements

·        Participate as a strategic thoughtful, strategic member of the exec team. Knowing when to advocate for large scale equipment, technology, process, or product changes

·        Set plans in plant for a geographic expansion

·        Recruit and build a great team; coach, develop & monitor performance, initiating corrective actions when necessary

 

 

 

 

Job Requirements:

 

·        10+ years in manufacturing operations, preferable multi-location, food manufacturing & national distribution

·        10+ years of team management experience

·        Strong leadership skills with proven ability to provide support, communication, direction and feedback to direct reports

·        Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize and focus on the most important tasks in order to drive outcomes

·        Able to multitask effectively and remain calm under pressure

·        Understanding of all areas in operational management with exceptional knowledge of food safety, employee safety and lean operating principles

·        Must bring a comfort level with data analysis and tech savviness; proficient with excel/google sheets

·        Proven leadership in multi-site lean manufacturing with end-to-end operational responsibility from customer back to supplier including operational management, supply chain management, procurement management and logistics management

·        Track record of strategy setting and deployment, change management and executing upon large scale time-compressed initiatives

·        Must be a leader and executor: you can successfully set strategy & influence peers while also being able to translate that vision into actionable plans

·        Organized, self-motivated with a true entrepreneurial spirit willing to do more with less and able to creatively problem solve

·        Team player and excellent communicator with a positive attitude
