Director of Operations - North America


Position Summary:

We are working with an Icelandic keto friendly company that is looking for a Director of Operations that will have full responsibility for all North American operations, supply chain and logistics. This position will also be responsible for working cross functionally with the US based sales team as well as with the Iceland based headquarter team, and will be charged with working to streamline and improve all North American operations for as the company continues with its rapid growth.


Job Responsibilities:


·        Manage 3PL relationships across the United States and Canada.

·        Coordinate and manage warehouses & shipments to different customer warehouses. Monitor warehouse finished product inventory to fulfil sales orders and maintain sufficient product shelf life

·        Identify and negotiate with new co-manufacturers and co-packers

·        Oversee to varying degrees, inbound logistics, production planning, packaging, quality control, processing, warehousing and outbound logistics.

·        Maintain the Company’s ERP and ensuring inventory and BOM accuracy.

·        Interface with sales, marketing and finance to ensure strategies meet demand and take a hands-on approach to executing the strategy and addressing real-time problems and opportunities.

·        Work to implement supply chain reporting

·        Analyze, manage & report all service metrics and KPIs related to freight and storage and warehouse capacity

·        Work cross functionally with all necessary team members 

·        Search for improvement opportunities in all areas of supply chain, warehousing and transportation

·        Find cost effective ways for distribution – work with 3rd party agencies

·        Collaborate when needed with external agencies and other vendor parties

·        Use Inventory forecasting models, based on sales projections, distribution metrics and historical revenue to provide accurate forecasts

·        Create Dashboards and information systems to help manage inventory and COGS


Job Requirements:


·        5-10+ years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment in supply chain/logistics/transportation

·        Proven background with streamlining the supply chain, logistics, fulfillment of a complex system with co manufacturers

·        History organizing transportation and distribution with co-manufacturers

·        Strong communication skills: able to liaise with confidence and influence co-packers, wholesaler executives, Brokers, Finance Team, and Executive Team

·        Strong multi-tasker, able to self-direct and redirect when needed

·        Entrepreneurially minded, will need to be able to think on your feet

·        Excellent written and verbal communicator. Able to communicate cross functionally

·        Must be pragmatic and tactical

·        Ability to travel as needed
