QA Manager
We are working with an innovative plant based, dairy free food manufacturer that is looking for a QA Manager. This role will continue to build a quality management program and drive improvement within a fast-growing company. The QA Manager will report to the Plant Manager and oversee all food safety regulations, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and maintain a quality management program to drive improvement across the organization and align with the food industry best practices and BRC standards
· Implement food safety & quality systems; ensure adherence on the manufacturing line
· Write policies, SOPs, SSOPs and the completion of quality and safety logs, ensuring compliance
· Ensure the HACCP, HARPC, SSOPs, allergen programs, formulations and finished product meet specification
· Coordinate testing of product for micros and broadcasting results
· Conduct, organize, and track food safety and quality employee training and mock recalls
· Complete all functions related to organic and kosher certification and liaise with relevant organizations
· Meet with regulatory agencies and represent company during external audits
· Coordinate testing of product for claims
· Ensure that receiving and shipping and procedures for incoming and outcoming finished products and raw materials are in compliance with quality and safety standards
· Coordinate with Purchasing to drive improvements in supplier quality
· Provide guidance and recommend solutions for supplier-related quality issues
· Assist R&D with product development
· Supervise & coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback
· Deliver solutions to internal teams for quality related production issues
· Provide direction on corrective actions consumer feedback
· Produce CAPAs on food safety and quality issues when necessary
· Maintain and drive a safe working environment throughout the manufacturing facility
· Embody a vision and mission to build a world class safety and quality program
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
· 5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment in fast moving consumer good required
· PCQI certification is ideal
· Solid background in GFSI audits, BRC would be ideal
· Experience with organic and kosher certification is ideal
· Understanding of FDA regulations, HARPC/HACCP, GMPs, SOPs
· 2+ years of experience in a quality assurance lab
· Ability to effectively build productive and engaged teams
· Focused and driven to deliver agreed targets on revenue and margin
· Exceptional problem solving and analytical abilities
· Exceptional communication skills. Collaborative style and inclination
· Ability to apply statistical process control concepts
· Ability to analyze and interpret scientific and technical journals
