Overview: We are working with a community driven food manufacturer north of Boston, MA that is looking for an engineer to support multiple automation facets within their manufacturing facility. Our client is looking for someone who is enthusiastic about the food industry and looking to work in a people centric environment. 

Job Duties:

·        Participate in CIP reviews and provide automation support for all audits in the plant

·        Maintain historical traceability software, make recommendations and take action as needed

·        Analyze data and trending using FTHistorian and FTVantagePoint Systems

·        Coordinate and train employees as required

·        Troubleshoot PLC programming issues within the manufacturing area

·        Verify/validate that programming and mechanical operations are synchronized

·        Work with maintenance to optimize operation and identify and resolve any issues

·        Create and keep updated programming in place and functional for disaster recovery

·        Work with maintenance to optimize operation and help to identify any issues

·        Create and keep updated programming for manufacturing using FactoryTalk

·        Ensure all systems have back up programming in place and functional for disaster recovery

·        Design, create and adapt operator interface screens

·        Manage supervision security access for personnel; set and maintain access levels to manual changes

·        Provide technical support to maintenance resolving equipment/process issues when necessary

·        Coordinate with management from all departments to resolve process issues

·        Ensure compliance with all company and FDA Quality requirements

·        Participate in problem solving teams and CI initiatives

·        Coordinate with Project Engineers during CAPEX project installations and process changes to ensure success

·        Communicate changes effectively to plant personnel on new and/or modified functionality

Education and Experience:

·        Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering, Industrial Technology or Computer Science related field

·        5+ years’ experience with technical support in a manufacturing environment is ideal

·        Previous experience in a food and beverage environment is preferred

·        Experience with Windows user and server level environments, including active directory configuration is preferred

·        Past experience with industrial filling/packaging equipment and servo/motion control systems

·        Must have a working knowledge of Allen Bradley controls hardware, including, SLCs, CompactLogix & ControlLogix PLCs, and associated I/O systems

·        Past experience working with control system hardware and electrical systems

·        Comfortable with Rockwell Automation software and Factory Talk platforms

·        Knowledge of PMO and food safety regulations

·        Strong verbal and written communication

·        Ability to read electrical documents/drawing to interpret plant operations and facility troubleshooting

·        Continual self-education to stay current with all technological trends, through self-study and outside training where applicable
