Your Role with the Company:

You will report directly to the accounting manager with a strong dotted line to Controller/CFO handling all payroll, including field and office.  The size of the payroll is typically around 150 employees, most of which are union employees located in multiple states throughout the Midwest.  You will be responsible for all payroll activities from new employee set up and payroll processing to garnishment paperwork and payments.  You’ll prepare union payroll reporting monthly for up to 30 unions and state filings in 5 to 7 states.  You’ll also prepare certified payroll for those jobs that require it and handle various administrative tasks related to new employee onboarding and administration.  You’ll have accounting manager backup for vacations.

Background Profile:

  • 3+ Years of payroll experience
  • Background with union and certified payroll helpful
  • Exposure to in-house payroll helpful
  • Experience with the latest office software technology
