Career Evolutions is searching for a Controller for a healthcare organization based in Phoenix-metro, Arizona. It's a Direct-Hire, Full-Time career opportunity with a compensation up to $110,000 + Excellent Benefits.

As the Controller, you will be part of a dedicated leadership team and help successfully expand services across the Phoenix metro area and eventually entire Arizona. You will be managing accounting systems, reporting and analyzing financial data, monitoring payables and receivables, strengthening internal controls, and administering cash management policies.


Principal Duties & Essential Responsibilities:

  • Organize and ensure that financial data and transactions are completed accurately in accordance with GAAP and the organization’s defined classification systems and methodologies
  • Prepare and analyze the financial statements, budgets, projections, and other reports
  • Manage all invoices, oversee disbursement processes, and ensure timely billing and collection procedures for revenue-generating activities
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and related procedures to ensure funds are accounted for properly
  • Cash Management to cover expenses and to maximize available investment returns
  • Manage external coordination activities, i.e. financial audits, funder reports, tax return preparation
  • Scrutinize contracts and vendor agreements to determine alignment with needs
  • Provide leadership along with the CEO and the Board of Directors for the Finance Committee

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience managing an accounting/finance function, preferably as a Controller
  • Prior experience in a nonprofit, behavioral health agency, human services and/or healthcare organization is preferred
  • Experience with QuickBooks is required
  • Project / Vendor / 3rd Party management experience
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent business acumen
  • Good team player attitude and ease in building business relationships with good negotiation and influencing skills
  • Advanced Excel user
  • High level of curiosity and ease in working in a business environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
