The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the plant.  Direct the implementation of the Operating Plan and identify areas which may need improvement or further development.  Ensure that plant operating conditions are always kept within optimum limits.  
Primary Duties

Ensure that thermal and electrical outputs are maintained at maximum levels and efficiencies. 


Report normal, abnormal, or emergency plant conditions to the Plant Manager.  Take necessary corrective action in accordance with established policy or at the direction of the Plant Manager. 


Provide guidance to the maintenance supervisor relative to equipment conditions and required maintenance activities. 


Maintain the Environmental QA/QC Manual and ensure compliance with all environmental regulatory requirements. 


Oversee the training of all plant personnel and maintain the plant Training Manual. 


Prepare required reports for the owner and/or utility. 


Oversee the daily upkeep of necessary plant logs and records. 


Maintain the plant Operations Manuals and assure that operating policies and procedures are kept up-to-date. 


Sustain the morale and motivation of operations personnel and handle employee concerns as they arise. 


Ensure that the water chemistry program for the plant is properly implemented, including testing, inspections, and maintenance of water treatment program.  Provide guidance to the chemist in administering the chemistry program. 


Complete other tasks as requested by the Plant Manager. 


Assist with the location, screening and hiring of operating personnel. 

 
Working Relationships
Report to the Plant Manager and supervise subordinate operations personnel.  Cooperate with the Administrative Manager and Maintenance Supervisor as needed in the daily operation of the plant. 
 
Job Qualifications:
&middot;         Education: Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent.  Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. 
&middot;         Years of Experience: 
o        Five years of power plant or similar experience. 
o        Two years of experience supervising technical, supervisory, and administrative personnel. 
&middot;         Preferred Experience: Gas turbine experience.    
&middot;         Licenses/Certifications:   
&middot;         Software/Equipment Knowledge:   
&middot;         Other Considerations: Strong leadership and motivational skills. 
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions 
Physical requirements include:  possibility of working on feet for extensive periods, requiring stair and ladder climbing; and routinely lifting 50 pounds.  Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.).  Work with hazardous materials may be required. 
 
Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions.  "On call" status will periodically be required. 
 
Fit for Duty 
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.

Respond to Incidents: respond to all safety-related incidents including, but not limited to injuries, incidents and near misses; write a report that explains what happened, identify the cause and recommend corrective action following any established business unit or division practice. Follow up as necessary to ensure that corrective action is taken.

Job Qualifications:
&middot;         Education: AA from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent years of related experience and/or training; or combination of experience and education.  High school diploma or equivalent required.
 
&middot;         Years of Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in an operational power generating plant, or plant related experience.  Experience working in power plant maintenance or other combustion turbine/combined cycle maintenance and operation or the equivalent of job experience, education or military training.
 
 
&middot;         PREREQUISITE SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair and maintenance.
Able to perform routine mechanical maintenance on equipment, determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Able to calculate figures and amounts such as measurements, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume; able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.  Able to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.
Able to organize work with attention to detail.
Able to analyze problems and situations and construct logical, practical and consistent solutions.
Able to focus on designated tasks despite interruptions and distractions.
Able to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal skills; able to function as a productive and positive team member.
Computer software proficiency.
Must be available to work at any plant location as needed.
Able to provide weekend coverage on a rotational basis and work overtime and cover for absences and emergencies as needed and required; travel requiring overnight stays will be required occasionally.

Able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. The Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Technician I is responsible for the safe installation, operation, inspection, and maintenance of BESS facilities. This role ensures reliable system performance through preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The BESS Technician I plays a crucial role in supporting the integration of renewable energy, maintaining grid stability, and ensuring plant reliability. 
Primary Duties
&middot;         Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on batteries, inverters, transformers, cooling systems, auxiliary systems, and electrical connections.
&middot;         Conduct routine inspections, testing, and calibrations of electrical and mechanical systems.
&middot;         Maintain accurate equipment files, logs, schematics, and drawings.
&middot;         Support inventory control, including forecasting, ordering, and tracking spare parts.
&middot;         Troubleshoot and repair equipment BESS equipment, including motors, generators, switches, control systems, wiring, communications, and storage batteries, up to and including 1500VDC and 1000VAC.
&middot;         Safely repair, replace, and clean equipment such as Batteries, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), and auxiliary components.
&middot;         Ensure all work complies with plant operating manuals, engineering standards, and preventive/predictive maintenance procedures.
&middot;         Maintain responsibility for site safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), outage coordination, and preparation of tags and documentation.
&middot;         Administer and issue Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Hot Work Permits, Confined Space Permits, and Safe Work Permits.
&middot;         Accurately complete required forms, reports, work orders, and job safety analyses.
&middot;         Operate hand tools, power tools, testing devices, forklifts, and other site equipment safely and effectively.
&middot;         Collaborate with other technicians, O&M staff, and remote operations personnel to ensure system reliability.
Additional Duties
&middot;         Assist with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of non-BESS plant equipment.
&middot;         Perform administrative functions including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
&middot;         Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering staff to resolve equipment issues.
&middot;         Support commissioning, startup, and testing of new BESS systems as needed.
&middot;         Participate in required training and maintain compliance with certifications.
&middot;         Provide weekend, on-call, and overtime coverage as required.
