POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible for organizing, developing, analyzing, and maintaining project controls, financial analysis or estimating applications required to monitor established objectives, and to prepare status and management reports that identify variances in the work execution strategy and recommend solutions. Provide management with the capability of maintaining cost and schedule control throughout the life cycle of a complex project or work activity.

Under limited supervision, responsible for the coordination and limited direction of estimating activities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Develop cost estimates applying basic principles and concepts in a comprehensive manner, complete in all respects, for facilities with varying degrees of complexity. 
Conceptual design estimates are based on less than 15 percent complete designs, and can determine the upper project funding limits. 
Ensures the validity of the project coding structures and work packages for the scope of work. 
Designs or assists in the design of a Work Breakdown Structure that is suitable for capturing ail cost components - Participates with the Lead Estimator in the development of the estimate basis &ndash; 
Identify areas of incomplete design definition within engineering drawings or other scope definition documents within a discipline or specialty. &ndash; 
Recognize omissions of necessary elements of the work scope. &ndash; 
Develop quantity estimates for all commodities within a discipline from drawings and develop quantities utilizing parametric estimating techniques for undefined scope. 
Develops quality material, labor, and subcontract take-offs, coordinates information between the Engineering, Purchasing, and Construction groups, and helps determine the Project Execution Plan. 
Develops an understanding of indirect and conceptual estimating &ndash; 
Oversees the development of Discipline Material Take-Offs, Material Pricing, and Labor Effort-hour Units
Provide detailed and credible explanations of complex estimates to internal and external customers. 
Requires negotiating skills and tradeoffs to generate acceptance. -
Perform assigned tasks related to establishing or implementing cost estimating databases using field, technical and commercial/industrial information that requires analysis and conversion. &ndash; 
Perform trend analysis and evaluate data to support recommended alterations to databases. 
Present this information to upper management with recommendations for actions. &ndash; 
Prepares discipline Change Order Estimates for use with Baseline Change Proposals &ndash; 
Develops and maintains project-level and control-account level specialty estimating schedules - Prepares the estimate analysis within the Discipline &ndash; 
Maintains established Specialty Estimating Systems, Procedures, and Manuals &ndash; 
May present information to management with recommendations on occasion. 

 
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

A Master's degree in business / construction management / technical / engineering or a related area and 2 years of practical experience. 
Bachelor's degree in business / construction management / technical / engineering or a related area and 5 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. 
An Associate's degree and 8 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. 
A high school diploma and 12 years of relevant experience would also be considered equivalent

 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Possesses strong personal computer skills. 
equires considerable proficiency in the use of automated accounting, budgeting, cost management and estimating systems as tools for performing required duties 
Working knowledge and understanding of project management and cost and schedule control at the tactical level is necessary, along with a knowledge of operations, maintenance, or project startup and construction. 
Estimating Specialty &ndash; Demonstrated skill in conceptual estimating, coordination with technical personnel, interfacing with engineers, knowledge of field construction techniques, labor, and equipment requirements.
Ability to apply concepts and methods to quantify work condition impacts on costs is necessary
Construction / Engineering / Estimating experience.
Reading, interpreting and generating Material Take-offs from Design drawings for multiple disciplines (mechanical, electrical, etc.) 
Experience with Microsoft office software especially Excel and Word
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Specific duties include, but are not limited to: 

Evaluating potential impacts of regulatory changes on research and development and operations processes and providing recommendations to management; 
Defining the requirements for radioactive disposal management programs, procedures, and training and qualification requirements; 
Providing technical expertise for the disposal of all types (i.e., LLW, TRU Waste, and radioactive portion of PCB waste, Nano waste, Mixed Waste, and Mixed TRU Waste); 
Developing radiological characterization plans for unique waste and waste streams (including calculations, sampling and analysis plans, certification or characterization plans, and work packages for processes and research and development initiatives);
Analyzing construction and special project plans for the creation of new waste streams; Performing periodic waste stream validations.
The job function includes maintaining external associations such as technical committees, professional societies, and licenses to remain current with waste management and other industry best practices.
Support programmatic and/or facility continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include pursuing implementation of Pollution Prevention / Waste Minimization objectives.
Attend plan-of-the-day, plan-of-week, and project meetings as necessary to maintain awareness of facility activities.
Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in science and/or engineering; has a wide range of experience in acumen serving as an advisor to management.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Chemical or Nuclear Engineering; however, other engineering disciplines will be considered.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must demonstrate significant experience performing radioactive waste calculations and possess a strong background in waste management/engineering.
Minimum of 10 years of waste management/engineering experience.
At least 6 years of experience specifically as a Rad Waste Characterization Engineer (Waste Cognizant Technical Function).
Significant demonstrable experience performing radioactive waste calculations.
Ability to walk down field or facility sites as required.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Health Physics/Radiation Control Technician monitors, collects results and records data to formulate recommendations on radioactive contaminants in the workplace environment. Understands and applies the appropriate meter and technique to use for radiological surveys for the uranium fuel cycle of various enrichments, types of feed sources, and binary metal. This includes expected daughter products, background radiation interference, isotopes that concentrate as a result of centrifuge processing, transuranic radionuclides, other hard to detect nuclides, chemicals, physical and biological agents in the environment and internal workplace.
 
What You Will Be Doing:
The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees, but are not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.

Performs and documents radiation surveys, contamination surveys, airborne radioactivity, and chemical hazard surveys to characterize radiological conditions, support job-planning, job- coverage, post-job surveys, detect changes in conditions, release from radiological control areas, unrestricted off-site material removal, and radiological shipping surveys.
Performs, understands and applies technical activities in support of the Health Physics programs.
Collects and records data using Health Physics equipment to monitor personnel and work areas for existence of and extent of hazard.
Using math and tools such as spreadsheets, converts the raw readings from radiological surveys to meaningful units for radiation protection purposes. This includes but is not limited to beta dose rates, contamination levels in dpm/100cm2, airborne concentration in &mu;Ci/ml and percent DAC.
Recognizes and takes the appropriate action when radiological conditions are outside the pre-defined safety envelope as may be described in a radiation work permit, per radiological postings, safety or other unanticipated situations.
May be required to work shift work or extended hours.
Conducts Health Physics Hygiene related training for peers as well as site personnel.
Implement radiological program procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. 
Control and maintain HP instruments including but not limited to inventory, performing or shipping offsite for periodic calibrations and maintenance, and performing daily use calibrations.
Review and provide guidance on work documents (e.g., work packages, test plans/instructions, procedures) pertaining work that has radiological hygiene hazards.

 
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Associates degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety and Health, Biological or Physical Science fields. or combined equivalent of related education and experience such as DOE core, INPO program, or maintain active registration through the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists (NRRPT).

Accredited HP/IH training/certification (i.e. DOE core or INPO program) or maintain active registration through the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists (NRRPT); or

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Be on site during construction activities to flag sensitive species and breeding birds for avoidance.
Maintain compliance with the MBTA by restricting vegetation removal during the peak bird-breeding season (April through September). If construction activities occur during this period, biological monitors will conduct nest checks to ensure that no nesting birds are present. Any nesting birds and associated active nest located will be documented with GPS and flagged by creating a 20 ft buffer around the nest location. This can include ground, cavity, and tree nesters. The nest location itself should not be flagged.
Will flag off any areas where any sensitive plant species are found during the construction phase to ensure the area is worked around as best as possible. Location will be documented with GPS. If needed, attempts will be made to transplant individual plants outside the area of disturbance. * 
Flag milkweed plants (Asclepias spp.) for avoidance. Milkweed plants would be checked for Monarch eggs and caterpillars during the breeding season before removal or disturbance. Dense milkweed stands will be avoided by a 50-foot buffer. Notice of these activities must be provided to agency and LANL biologists.
Contact LANL and agency biologists for further review if helicopter is needed due to possible peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus) and golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) nests in the general area. 
Ensure that installation of aerial transmission line over the Rio Grande will be completed outside the timeframe of November&ndash;December and February&ndash;March. These timeframes are the highest migration periods of Sandhill cranes (Grus canadensis) and other migratory waterfowl through the project area.
Report any findings of sensitive species and/or nesting bird locations to LANL and agency biologists, including species and GPS location.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Provide technical and conduct of operations support to Site Services (SS). 
Primary responsibilities included, conducting independent oversight for all Operations/Maintenance activities and projects, specifically for SS Infrastructure and Functional Maintenance. These oversight areas are identified based upon organization need throughout the year.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Quality Engineer plans and directs activities to develop, maintain, and advise on the implementation of the Quality Assurance (QA) Program. Quality assurance includes all those planned and systematic actions necessary to assure implementation using a graded approach of the QA Rule (10 CFR 830, Subpart A, Quality Assurance Requirements) and Department of Energy (DOE) Order 414.1D, Quality Assurance, using AMSE NQA-1 2008/2009a as the national consensus nuclear standard and other commercial quality standards in the planning and execution of work. 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Possesses and applies a comprehensive body of knowledge to the timely and high-quality completion of assigned tasks.
Reviews and advises on project associated quality-related processes/procedures for conformance to project QA program/plan requirements.
Provides quality assurance support on assigned program(s) and/or areas to ensure that the product is designed, procured, and installed in accordance with customer and company quality requirements.
Reviews and advises on engineering and procurement documents to ensure the inclusion of applicable quality requirements.
Performs routine surveillances to evaluate and document quality program implementation.
Reviews and monitors reported nonconforming conditions and associated actions.
Reviews and approves the adequacy of select issue causal analyses, resulting corrective action plans, and associated completed corrective actions.
Leads/supports internal independent audits/assessments and supplier quality audits.


JOB KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of the quality assurance principles and their application to engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, operations, or decommissioning. 
Knowledge of regulatory and contractual requirements that impact the QA program. 
Knowledge of the quality control principles. 


Education and Experience:
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in engineering or related field or demonstrated equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
Entry-level position for college graduate. 8 years of relevant experience is required in lieu of a bachelor&rsquo;s degree; or, 4 years of relevant experience required with an associate degree.
1-2 years of related experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Possess strong risk-based decision-making skills.
Ability to provide oversight of programs, assume leadership responsibilities for team activities and interact and coordinate with multiple organizations, including federal counterparts.
Effective written, listening, and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications.

LOCATION:
This full-time on-site position is located at the UCOR office in Oak Ridge, TN. UCOR is conducting major cleanup activities at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and the Y-12 National Security Complex as well as remedial activities at the East Tennessee Technology Park (ETTP).  Cleanup missions on the Oak Ridge Reservation (ORR) focus on protecting people and the environment from industrial and chemical hazards while enabling current and future science and national security programs.  UCOR also leads critical projects (e.g., Outfall 200 Mercury Treatment Facility and the Environmental Management Disposal Facility) and manages nuclear operations facilities at the ORNL and Transuranic Waste Processing Center. We are seeking a highly qualified Subject Matter Expert I (SME-1) to provide technical leadership and engineering expertise in support of complex, high-technology systems and projects. Support fabrication and installation efforts across multiple concurrent projects
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project engineering, facility engineering, and installation groups

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

P6 and Deltek Cobra Experience. 
Position requires experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis, and cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis, in the field and home office. 
Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel. Skilled in oral and written communication. 
Proficiency in using personal computer operating systems and several basic software applications. 
Proficiency in using multiple discipline-specific software applications currently used. 
Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge and leadership as described below. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The position provides planning of work week activities under the Work Control Program, which is utilized to plan and execute maintenance of plant equipment and construction activities in a safe, regulatory compliant, and efficient manner.  The Work Control Program is designed to maximize schedule stability, while allowing the flexibility to manage emergent equipment failures.  The objective of Work Control is to integrate the inter-group efforts necessary to maximize safety, system reliability and overall plant efficiency, thereby maximizing plant production.  This is accomplished through a structured planning and review process, which utilizes input from numerous site organizations.  The Work Week Planner (WWP) guides the Work Control planning process by coordinating with representatives from all organizations necessary to safely conduct work activities at the site.  The primary responsibility of the WWP is to function as the single-point-of-contact for all issues and activities associated with the designated work week.  This entails performing inter-group coordination, providing an interface with management, and addressing specific issues that arise.
Job Responsibilities:  

The WWP works within the Work Control process and is responsible for development of the necessary planning products to support the program. The WWP implements policies, procedures and checks for current training of all personnel performing work.  The position performs Work Week Scheduling and also acts as Applications Administrator for our computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), ensuring compliance with regulatory and procedural requirements as well as company policy.
The WWP owns the Work Week Plan and authorizes all changes to the week&rsquo;s scope for the execution week and the three weeks prior to execution week.  The WWP reviews the Work Week Plan, ensuring it can be successfully executed, and gains approval from the Maintenance Manager.  The review includes validation of necessary logic ties, verification that Preventive Maintenance activities are scheduled and completed according to program requirements, and ensuring the schedule is appropriately levelized.
The WWP functions as the single-point-of-contact during execution week.  The WWP maintains/controls the &ldquo;big picture&rdquo; of all activities occurring during the week.  The WWP also closely monitors all facility impairments to ensure work is performed as scheduled and therefore returning the plant to full operation as soon as possible.
The WWP serves as the central point of contact for the Daily Plan of the Day Meeting and Weekly Work Planning Meeting.  The WWP compiles requests for Emergent and Routine work.  In addition, the WWP assists in the performance of post-work week critique of significant evolutions.  The WWP will develop, publish and present performance indicators for the work week.
The WWP ensure traceability control of critical system components, monitors any vendor-managed inventories and coordinate with plant shipping and receiving activities.
The WWP performs the function of the Applications Administrator for the plant Maintenance and Scheduling software applications. POSITION DESCRIPTION
Centrus Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE) are responsible for managing the quality aspects of materials and services provided by external suppliers while ensuring that requirements of the ACP License Applications and Quality Assurance Program are achieved. The role involves implementing quality assurance processes, conducting audits, and collaborating with suppliers to address quality issues. Support Centrus Sourcing Engineers with supplier qualification and approval processes.
Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards. 
Develop and implement quality control plans and programs for all externally procured components and materials.
Maintain detailed records of supplier quality performance, analyzing & monitoring quality data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement to ensure production continuity, while continually collaborating with suppliers to address and resolve any quality issues that arise.
Demonstrate strong supplier relationship-building skills to ensure effective communication, enhanced innovation, and improved overall operational efficiency.
Work closely with suppliers and Centrus cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions and continual improvement initiatives, ensuring that quality objectives are met.
Ensure suppliers adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements, and serve as a knowledgeable resource for interpreting quality-related federal regulations, quality standards, etc.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for oversight of over-arching mission deliverables for construction activities and operations, including the quality, accuracy, efficiency and successful completion of assigned deliverables. Summary

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Electrical Safety Officer at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is responsible for overseeing the Electrical Safety Program, providing expertise in electrical safety, and serving as the primary contact for electrical safety-related concerns. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Project Manager 3 will operate as a Manager Construction 3 responsible for the successful completion of all activities related to the execution of assigned Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) construction projects. Contribute to the overall administration and technical direction, coordination, and direct line responsibilities for field construction, including maintaining and ensuring safety and security training, compliance, and makes safety and security an integral part of every task; including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Sr. Quality Control Specialist performs first article, in-process, and final component inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), manual inspection equipment, and visual inspection.  They will translate engineering requirements to quality control plans and develop CMM programs as needed.  This role will ensure compliance with quality requirements and ensure that manufactured or procured products meet specified standards before they progress to next phase of production or customer delivery.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Interpret engineering drawings and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality requirements.
Prepare quality control plans for components based on engineering specifications.
Develop Coordinate Measuring Machine programs.
Set-up and inspect components using CMM&rsquo;s.
Utilize various manual measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, and other hand-held measuring devices.
Utilize vision-based equipment such as optical comparators for measurement of parts or part characteristics.
Inspect in-process products on the shop floor to ensure compliance with Centrus quality standards.
Evaluate inspection results to determine conformance to requirements.
Complete final inspection reports and first article inspection reports.
Upload inspection records to company server.
Document, track, and complete nonconformance reports.
Perform basic weekly and daily maintenance of CMM instruments.  Track CMM performance to ensure calibration is accurate.
Understand basic statistical techniques sufficient for evaluation of measurement data trends.
Conduct Measurement System Analysis
Understand and follow Centrus quality management system procedures.
Train others on inspection techniques and tools when required.
Keep machines and work area clean and organized.
Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines.
Practice safe working behaviors and adhere to safety policies, guidelines, and procedures.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

POSITION DESCRIPTION
RCT III - As a fully proficient radiation control technician 3 (RCT 3), provides radiological support at assigned Laboratory sites in the areas of workplace surveillance and analysis/interpretation of radiological data. In addition, provides fully proficient operational health physics support in assigned facility, function or area. Responsible for high-hazard radiological jobs. Ensures compliance with radiation protection activities, procedures and 10CFR835. Implements radiation protection procedures and applies these to a wide range of activities such as reviewing radiological work for proper controls, posting and compliance with Laboratory requirements. Assists and mentors employees in on-the-job training in the areas of: group procedures for radiation monitoring, contamination control, external exposure control and emergency response, radiation work permits, and facility design. Interfaces with emergency personnel or directly responds to an emergency situation involving radiation or radioactive material. Works with health physicist to determining appropriate re-entry requirements, directs as necessary other RCTs in monitoring and dealing with contaminated personnel. The RCT 3 may be called upon on an as-needed basis to successfully assume field management responsibility and direct the actions of other technicians. Completing assignments requires following or adhering to requirements, specifications, or procedures developed for the task. Impact of work may affect an entire facility.
 
RCT IV &ndash; As a senior radiation protection technician 4 (RCT 4), performs the full range of RCT support activities and serves as the primary point of contact for planning, coordination of resources, and ensuring resolution of conflicting demands in highly dynamic and challenging conditions that require ability as a strong tactical decision maker. Assignments may be broad or narrowly focused, but usually require contributions of substantial independent effort. Ensures that radiological controls are correctly applied for radiological work, including high-hazard radiological work, by serving as authorized subject matter expert for development of radiological work control packages (RWCPs). Provides coordination of work area resources as needed to ensure safe and efficient operations. Fulfills customer radiation protection requests while ensuring established RP-1 priorities are followed. Works effectively with customers and supervision to resolve problems including elevation of issues beyond the ability of the RCT 4 to resolve. Ability to anticipate problems and handle unforeseen issues. May include technical supervision responsibilities, but certainly includes responsibility for providing technical leadership and review. Contributions of technicians at this level are normally expected to be of sufficient value to have some impact on the outcome of entire project or group accomplishments. Through actions and words, demonstrates excellence in safety and compliance to RCTs co-workers and customers.
 
RCT 4 is considered a senior-skilled level. Demonstrated skills and knowledge beyond those expected to be found at Level 3. Applies extensive knowledge and skills to complete specialized tasks and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Comprehensive understanding of general and technical aspects of the job. Assignments may be broad or narrowly focused, but usually require contributions of original work. Usually includes some responsibility for coordination and participation in developing the final product working with the requestor. Develops solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity, creativity, and independence. Contributions are of sufficient value to have some impact on the outcome of the entire group accomplishments. Work is performed without appreciable direction. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective, for desired results. Incumbent exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments, which may be completed without established procedures.
 
Work involves moderate physical demands, such as lifting and carrying radiation protection instruments and wearing personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection. Work may be outdoors and may be scheduled at time other than regular work hours.This position may require 24/7 coverage, which could involve working a rotating shift/weekend schedule. Employees may be eligible for shift differential pay when assigned by their manager. Shift/weekend assignments are at the discretion of the manager.
 
Essential Job Functions (can perform with or without reasonable accommodation): Ability to lift 50 pounds and carry 35 pounds; Reading vision; Peripheral Vision, Depth Perception; Ability to speak; Ability to hear in a normal range (500 to 3000 htz). Ability to sit, crawl, stand, walk, run, and climb; in addition to reaching overhead, horizontally, and down; Free from chronic wounds or chronic rashes which disrupt the integrity of the skin that would prevent safe entry into controlled areas; Ability to use stairways, fixed ladders, and ladders up to six feet. Must be physically able to work in demanding environments.
 
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

RCT III - Position typically requires a high school diploma and two-to-four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, additional training, certification, and/or education may be desirable. 
RCT IV - Position typically requires a high school diploma and four to six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance. 
Ability to work onsite.  
Ability to pass Radiological Worker II training.
Ability to work in a diverse work environment. 
Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements (details below),
Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.

LOCATION 

The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. May require 24/7 shift coverage. Employees may be eligible for shift differential pay when assigned.
