We are looking for a House Services Director to join our team. Responsible for guest and volunteer programs and services, this individual acts as staff liaison to volunteers, hospitality housing and health care professionals to further programs and services. The House Services Director is also the primary liaison for all facilities vendor ensuring proper maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs along with planning and budgeting for future capital expenditures.

Here’s more about what you’d be doing at the Ronald McDonald House of Western Michigan:

  • Supervise the Operations Team, House Volunteers and Volunteer Program Coordinators ensuring 24/7/365 coverage for the House
  • Provide regular feedback and reviews for Operations team, setting clear goals and guest service standards
  • Provide survey(s) for on-going evaluation of the effectiveness of guest and volunteer programs and services
  • Participate in the development and implementation of guest-based programs and services for House guests
  • Develop and monitor the Operations program budget
  • Identify new and changing needs relative to guest programs and services and provide recommendations and direction in implementing policies and procedures to address these changing needs
  • Direct the recruitment, recognition, retention and management of volunteer resources
  • Oversee the maintenance of records and data relative to the management and administration of guest and volunteer programs and services. Assure tracking of information necessary to support ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of guest and volunteer programs and services
  • Schedule volunteer personnel to assure appropriate coverage during all hours of house operations (general business hours, after hours and weekends)
  • Coordinate and schedule all building preventative maintenance, repairs and upgrades
  • Coordinate, repair and plan all IT infrastructure upgrades/replacements and provide budgetary figures to the President/CEO for annual operating budget

Here’s who we’re looking for:

  • 5-7 years non-profit leadership/management experience in progressively responsible positions
  • 3-4 years’ experience in social service/voluntary organizations or hospitality industry
  • Experience working with families in crisis essential
  • Post-secondary education preferred
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends as requested
  • Excellent organization skills, verbal and written communication skills; detail oriented
  • Flexible, diplomatic, trustworthy, creative, poised and maintains a supportive and cheerful attitude
  • Ability to delegate tasks to volunteers and staff
  • Time management and use of volunteer resources
  • Maintains a professional manner in order to work with the Board of Directors, volunteers, staff and community
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
