Founded in 1998, our client is a metal cabinet manufacturer located in Wallingford, CT with 50 employees. They are a leading national stainless-steel custom cabinet manufacturer specializing in outdoor kitchens. Their business is a growing and dynamic, continually exploring new product lines and new markets with a history of annual growth in sales.

What You'll Do:

The ideal candidate will possess practical experience in a manufacturing environment including financial reporting, inventory accounting, and financial analysis and leadership skills. The Assistant Controller/Office Manager will supervise five office staff (HR, Bookkeeping, Purchasing, Freight), complete financial reports and schedules, inventory cost analysis, and month end procedures. Ideally this candidate will thrive in an autonomous, self-directed environment requiring minimal supervision.

Day to Day:

  • Direct all accounting functions in the company.
  • Work with the Controller in preparing timely and accurate financial statements, reconciliations and analysis.
  • Maintain banking and insurance relationships.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and financial reporting functions.
  • Ensure effectiveness of and improvement on internal controls.
  • Provide management team with timely reviews of financial results and trends.

What Makes You a Good Fit:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
  • 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software systems. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Possess good judgement, planning skills and leadership traits.
