Collegial and collaborative general law practice located in New York City seeks a Senior Estate Planning Attorney.  Required billable hours range from 1,500 - 1,800 annually with a base range of $175K-$225K, depending upon experience.

Primary Duties

The Senior Estate Planning Attorney will have the ability to work autonomously representing and advising fiduciaries in collecting, valuing and disposing of assets as well as with more long-term continuing functions as fulfilling obligations to beneficiaries, the preparation and filing of fiduciary accounting and trust governance. The practice also extends to prenuptial and post nuptial agreements, guardianships and adoptions. You will also provide advice and counsel on business succession planning as well as long-term family wealth planning with the use of LLCs, family limited partnerships and defective grantor trusts. Additional duties include:

  • Drafting complex estate documents for high net worth individuals including, but not limited to, insurance trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, dynasty trusts, charitable split-interest trusts and private foundations
  • Preparing 706 returns
  • Administration of estates and the handling of attendant legal, tax and accounting work, including the preparation of requisite estate tax returns
  • Handling a wide array of estate planning and estate tax mitigation issues
  • Contested proceedings and established court procedures 


  • LL.M. a plus, but not required
  • Minimally 10+ years of related experience
  • Admission to New York State bar
