Description

The Bookkeeping & Payroll Analyst performs routine accounting activities such as maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports and accounts payable or receivable functions. Maintains and records business transactions. Balances ledgers, reconciles accounts, and prepares reports. Follows bookkeeping procedures established by the organization. Responsible for processing payroll.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable

  • Distribute all vendor bills to appropriate departments; enter vendor invoices and verify general ledger codes.
  • Make general ledger entries; check g/l accounts for missed postings.
  • Match checks with invoices, file paid invoices, track and answer questions regarding paid or open invoices.

Accounts Receivable

  • Post all payments from lock box, wire transfers, and credit card(s).
  • Make deposits from bank statement.
  • Assist providers with questions regarding their account(s) and notate conversations on account.
  • Follow up on and resend past due invoices.

Payroll/ 1099 Vendor Pay

  • Accumulate and process shift and time information.
  • Process all information and send for direct deposits.
  • Pay corporate tax and payroll liabilities.
  • Serve as primary and contact for provider and staff questions.

Other Duties

  • Maintain and record business transactions in general ledger. Make journal entries as needed.
  • Balance ledgers and prepare reports.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, merchant services and credit card accounts.
  • Maintain accounting software back-ups, updates, and other maintenance.
  • Assist CPA with quarterly and year end reports.
  • File bank and insurance company documents and other relevant documents.
  • Assist in monthly finance document preparation, as needed.
  • Serve as benefits liaison to assist new employee with benefit enrollment details.
  • Complete verification of employment and other verification for providers.

Education and Experience  Requirements

  • High school required; some college coursework in accounting, bookkeeping, or business preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in accounts payable/accounts receivable.
  • Must be familiar with standard accounting and bookkeeping concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Must be familiar with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
