A personal injury law firm located in Bergen County, NJ seeks a Senior Case Manager with a minimum of 8 years of solid plaintiff personal injury experience and the ability to handle 150+ active cases. Good people skills are necessary as the case manager will work closely with all assigned clients, attorneys and other staff members. The base salary is between $60,000 - $75,000 annually plus benefits, depending upon experience.

Primary Duties

The Senior Case Manager is responsible for the management of the work on their assigned case files. They are responsible for providing back up support to their assigned attorney.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Regular and consistent contact with clients via phone, email and mail
  • Calendar management including confirming all appointments/court
    appearances/depositions for their assigned attorney
  • Open and enter all incoming mail, faxes and emails into database and forwarding to attorney for review
  • Proactively prepare responses to incoming correspondence
  • Case management including regular reviews of each file and updates to attorney
  • Creating reminders for all critical dates and tracking of document requests
  • Daily review of critical dates
  • Entering notes on all case activity
  • Updating and maintaining an accurate database for each client
  • Request and obtain all medical records/bills/reports for client
  • Prepare demand packages for every client who has completed treatment
  • Draft answers to interrogatories
  • Prepare arbitration brochures
  • Assist attorney with trial preparation including but not limited to notebooks, scheduling experts, witnesses, etc.
  • Prepare settlement documents
  • Participate in training of Jr. Case Managers when requested
  • Monthly settlement reports filed with office manager


  • Prior plaintiff personal injury experience
  • Trial preparation is required
  • Complex litigation experience
  • Good telephone etiquette
  • Strong Microsoft office skills
  • Prior experience with case management systems
  • Typing speed of 50+ wpm
  • Ability to compose letters/documents with correct grammar and spelling
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good prioritization skills
