SUMMARY:  The Business Development Representative role is a first point of contact for many of our new prospective customers.  BDR’s are energetic, hardworking and assertive individuals with strong communication skills and a healthy desire to compete. This position is responsible for engaging targeted prospects to initiate them in the sales process. 

This position has a direct impact on ResMan’s “top of the funnel” activity, and will create a high volume of prospect engagement through phone calls, email and social channels.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The following list of functions is descriptive of the work to be performed but it should not be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, functions, or tasks that the job may require.  

The core duties and responsibilities of the Business Development Representative include, but are not limited to the following:  

  • Manage a high volume of outbound calls daily to cold & warm prospects 

  • Quickly assess the quality of a prospect to determine the viability of the sales opportunity 

  • Schedule and confirm meetings for the account executive team 

  • Achieve daily, weekly and monthly metrics and targets 

  • Build Strong networks in and outside the organization 

  • Collaborate with the team to develop better solutions to ResMan processes 

  • Utilize Salesforce and our Sales Engagement Platform to create and execute campaigns 


  • Self-Motivated individual ready to compete day in and day out 

  • Previous inside sales experience 

  • Ability to quickly engage prospects to further a conversation 

  • Confident, enthusiastic phone personality  

  • Ability to educate prospects in a consultative manner 

  • Strong communication and organizational skills 

  • Efficient in computer and software skills for research, documentation, and information management 

  • Resilient to consistent rejection and dial tones 

  • Ability to gather information verbally and in writing 

  • Reliable, strong and positive work ethic  

  • Strong organization and time management skills and ability to work independently 

  • Preferred knowledge of multi-family housing 

  • Preferred domain knowledge of Conventional, Accounting, and Budgeting software applications for multi-family housing 

  • Achieve a high volume of phone calls daily with a goal of scheduling quality meetings

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience may be accepted  

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 

  • Experience in B2B Cold Calling, sales or business development 

  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed personal quotas and goals 

  • Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation 

  • Professional communication skills and ability to connect with IT business leaders 

  • Positive attitude towards work, teammates and working with colleagues in other departments 

  • Experience working with sales CRM (i.e. Salesforce) preferred
