Digital Modeler (3 month contract) - Electric Vehicles

Location: Downtown Los Angeles

BYD in downtown Los Angeles seeks a qualified consultant Digital Modeler. 

Job brief:

This position is responsible for creating high-quality surfaces for all visible exterior and interior components. This is not a transportation designer role. 

Responsibilities:

·         Create complex and high-quality digital automotive surfaces.

·         Create digital automotive surfaces for concept models.

·         Interpret 2D sketches and renderings into 3D surfaces.

·         Work closely together with exterior and interior design staff.

Requirements:

·         Minimum 2 years working in or for an OEM automotive design studio.

·         BS, BA or MFA degree in design, engineering preferred.

·         High proficiency in Autodesk Alias and VRED preferred.

·         Understanding of concept automotive development and procedures.

·         Ability to read and understand a 2D sketch and translate it into 3D CAD.

·         Work in creative and fast paced environment with quick turn-around.

·         Proactive team player with excellent communication skills.
