Description

We’re hiring a Full Time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for the upcoming school year (2019-2020) in the Oakland, CA market area.

The Speech-Language Pathologist identifies students with communication disabilities; plans and implements appropriate treatment to minimize adverse impact on student success; recommends treatment plans; and provides direction to other staff.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Collaborates with a variety of groups and/or individuals (e.g. parents, teachers, administration, team members, other professionals, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues and providing services in compliance with established guidelines. 

  • Coordinates meetings and processes for eligible students (e.g. testing/screening, IEP meetings, etc.) for the purpose of presenting evaluation results, developing treatment plans, and/or providing training to parents/students/staff. 

  • Develops treatment plans, interventions, and/or educational materials  

  • Provides speech and language therapy to students 

  • Instructs eligible students in the use of appropriate communication technologies (e.g. FM systems, hearing aids, etc.) 

  • Instructs/educates staff for the purpose of providing information on communicative disorders 

  • Supervision of SLPA, as needed 

  • Interprets medical reports within the scope of the speech-language pathologist’s experience  

  • Maintains files, records, (e.g. progress reports, activity logs, treatment plans, screening/assessment results, other required documentation, etc. 

  • Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars (e.g. trainings, IEP meetings, team meetings, etc.) 

  • Exhibit compliance with state and federal regulations 

  • Perform other related duties as directed.  

 

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Education and Experience:

  • MA or MS degree - Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders

  • Two to three years of school experience preferred 

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) desired 

  • Must possess at least one of the following:  Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential or Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential or CA State License
