Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas (GSSWT) is powered by more than 5,500 adult volunteers, and serves 14,500 girls in its 21-county area, including Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Kinney, Maverick, Medina, Real, Uvalde, Val Verde, Wilson and Zavala.

STEM Program and Curriculum Coordinator (Full-Time)
 
Position Summary:  The STEM Program and Curriculum Coordinator researches designs and delivers Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) program opportunities council-wide that address the needs and interests of Girl Scout members and attract non-members to the organization. The STEM Program and Curriculum Coordinator develops innovative, engaging girl-focused STEM curriculum to be delivered by staff and volunteers.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops, plans, and manages STEM curriculum.
  • Trains and supports volunteers and staff on the implementation of STEM programs, including program evaluation.
  • Delivers STEM programming to meet the needs of GSSWT girl membership.
  • Facilitates programs to membership at the West Side Girl Scout Leadership Center.
  • Purchases and maintains equipment and program materials for council STEM programs, collaborating with the IT department as necessary.
  • Assists with the analysis of program evaluations to ensure membership needs are being met, addresses issues and modifies or discontinues programs as needed; assists with outcome survey implementation.
  • Supports grant development and implementation.
  • Collaborates with Communications department to ensure information regarding STEM programs and curriculum is kept current on GSSWT webpage and social media.
  • Researches current girl trends and issues within GSSWT jurisdiction, Texas and nationwide to develop programs accordingly and coordinate resources to deliver high capacity program.
  • Plans marketing strategies to ensure increased participation in council STEM programs.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned in support of the council’s mission and goals.
 
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be proficient with computer and Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Outlook, and Word).
 
Compensation:
  • Starting at $18.50/hour
