Description

The Information Security Manager will research and evaluate new concepts and processes to improve performance. Team member will be expected to assist as well as perform all tasks of lower level technicians, specialists, and/or managers in their activities. Candidate will work individually, actively participate on integrated teams, and lead multiple tasks, projects or teams through to project completion. 

Duties Include:

  • Prepare and maintain assessment and authorization packages to obtain approvals to operate IAW ICD 503, CNSS 1253 and NIST 800-53 Rev 4
  • Lead/support the quarterly Federal Information Security Management Act audits
  • Experience preparing for and conducting command cyber readiness inspection self-inspections/audits audit activities associated with As needed, design and develop IA or IA enabled products, interface specifications, and approaches to secure the environment
  • Experience lifecycle management and mitigation of security/cyber related incidents
  • Experience implementing and managing a patch and vulnerability management and reporting program
  • Ensure that the architecture and design of DoD information systems are functional and secure
  • Provide security subject matter expertise at all engineering, change, configuration control or equivalent meetings
  • Assess threats to the environment 
  • Provide inputs on the adequacy of security designs and architectures
  • Participate in risk assessment during the certification and accreditation process
  • Ensure that the architecture and design of DoD information systems are functional and secure
  • As needed, design and develop IA or IA enabled products, interface specifications, and approaches to secure the environment
  • Provide guidance and direction to lower level technicians, specialists, and managers.
  • Oversee and monitor performance, and when required, takes steps to resolve issues.

 

Required Skills

• Education/Min Years Experience:
HS Diploma/GED with 10 years experience or,
Associates with 8 years experience or,
Bachelors with 6 years experience or,
Masters with 4 years experience or,
PhD with 2 years experience.

• CISSP, CISM
• ITIL Certification

Clearance:
Active US Government Security Clearance Required.
Optional Skills

• CEH, CHFI (a plus)
• GCIH Certification (a plus)
