COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS ANALYST – MILWAUKEE, WI

Our Milwaukee, WI Client seeks a Compensation & Benefits Analyst to join their high-performing HR team, supporting the Human Resources Department and responsible for effective administration of compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitive positioning, corporate alignment and compliance with company guidelines and legal requirements.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide assistance in the administration and communication of benefit plans and programs. This includes but is not limited to the following:
    • Responsible for effective administration and communication of health & welfare and retirement benefit programs in accordance with plan provisions and legal requirements including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA and other regulations that may govern benefit plans and administration.
  • Serve as a main resource for employee benefits questions; providing benefits information and answering questions in a timely manner, resolve employee escalations
    • Act as a liaison between the Company and benefit carriers/vendors to ensure effective administration as well as the identification and resolutions of problems
    • Coordinate new hire communication and benefits enrollment and assist with annual Open Enrollment process
    • Assist management with research on competitive plan offerings, evaluate trends, analyze plan features and plan utilization and assess cost implication of plan changes.
    • Assist during plan audits and preparation of plan compliance reporting, including Form 5500s, 1095-C, etc.
  • Reconciles and prepares benefits vendor invoices for payment, generates self-billing calculations, and coordinates claim funding process to ensure timely payments.
    • Gather benefit census and utilization data and assist in cost/utilization analysis report preparation. Gather data or create and generate ad hoc reports as needed; and
  • Partners with the HR team in implementation of processes and process improvements.
  • Provide value added assistance with compensation programs. This includes but is not limited to the following:
    • Participate in the planning, design, implementation and administration of equity and cash programs
    • Participate in the successful completion of the annual merit and bonus planning process. Work with HR partners in systematic bonus and merit submission, review, audit and recommend approvals
    • Recommend enhancements and changes to compensation programs to improve administrative procedures, workflow efficiencies aligning programs to achieve corporate goals
    • Conduct internal and external research and analysis on a variety of compensation issues. Research, analyze and propose resolutions to compensation related issues consulting with experts and management for advice or approval on escalated issues
    • Participate in and conduct salary surveys including the analysis of survey data and maintenance of salary survey database;
    • Provide guidance and support to management and staff in the administration and interpretation of compensation guidelines and pay practices
    • Partner with managers and HR Generalists in the creation and revision of job descriptions. Ensure that new and revised job descriptions are posted to the intranet. Create new job codes in the system and process Job Action Forms
    • Responsible for providing and maintaining compensation-related data in HRIS system. Coordinate with HRIS to ensure the personnel/payroll system is updated with appropriate information
    • Prepare quarterly bonus data for various departments and coordinate with Payroll for processing; and
    • Participate and provide company data for compensation surveys

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, business or related area or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum three years’ experience in compensation and benefits administration.
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems
  • Knowledge of compensation and benefit compliance regulations
  • The interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with all levels of MTW personnel, internal and external in a professional confidential manner; strong customer service skills (both face-to-face and telephone interactions).
  • Intermediate analytical skills
  • The organizational skills necessary to prioritize and to work independently
  • The written and verbal communication skills necessary to effectively communicate information, write letters and memos, and present benefits materials at employee orientation
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Excel
