Our client is the global leader in the manufacturing of flooring surfaces for the sports industry. Founded in 1950, It’s now a large industrial group with approximately 1,000 employees and nine manufacturing units spread across Italy, Spain, Luxembourg and China. It markets its products in 196 countries.
 
Role Summary
 
We are looking for a Senior HR Generalist to be part of a small team supporting 40+ employees across the US territory. It’s a full-time and permanent position, in a 50% hybrid mode, with the office located in Schaumburg, IL.
 
The Senior HR Generalist will provide the day-to-day HR operations support in a variety of HR-related areas including talent acquisition and workforce planning, employee relations, employee engagement, performance management, US and country labour law employment and compliance, compensation and benefits, project support, and DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion).
Under the direction of the VP of HR, the Senior HR Generalist will also be responsible for supporting and implementing HR initiatives that support the growth and the best practices
 
Main Responsabilities
  • The main point of contact for full-cycle talent acquisition, employee relations, onboarding, performance management, health & safety and benefits
  • Work with our VP HR to complete a gap analysis of current HR practices, policies, and processes and provide recommendations to ensure they align with business strategy. Specific focus areas include performance review, compensation strategy, organizational structure and talent acquisition.
  • Assist in driving employee engagement through initiatives such as corporate communications, corporate events, and employee pulse surveys.
  • Make recommendations for improvement to ensure ongoing legislative requirements for our global team (i.e. Human Rights Code, Employment Standards, Health and Safety and personal data laws)
  • Navigating challenging employee relations issues with sound judgment.
  • Develops and leverages analytics to drive solutions
  • Assists and/or advises in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals
  • Maintain current knowledge of federal, state and local employment practices and labour laws and ensure adherence to all as applicable
 
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least seven years of HR generalist experience
  • Proactive self-starter that is comfortable working independently
  • Significant knowledge of HR policies and practices, employment-related laws & regulations
  • Business acumen, problem-solving, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Demonstrate a high degree of curiosity and initiative, bringing new and innovative ideas and moving rapidly to execute those ideas to help us improve
  • Collaborative nature, with strong consulting and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communicator with relationship-building skills. You know when to listen, ask questions, and when to speak up.
  • Computer literacy, proficient in MS Office suites
