The Opportunity
Seeking experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join our team. This is an enterprise program that covers numerous Java applications, databases, external systems, and batch processes. This role will be integral in the Agile team including interfacing with product owners for user story clarification, backlog grooming, story sizing, sprint planning, task breakdown, design, development, and testing. Strong automation test engineering background with the ability to test manually to support collecting and analyzing data for software development evaluation and improvements, day-to-day tasks of testing and quality assurance processes will be considered. Successful candidate drives quality through continuous improvement, relies on experience and judgement to accomplish goals, exhibits strong communication and interpersonal skills, works well under pressure and aggressive timelines, and thinks beyond the day-to-day activities to keep big-picture objectives in mind. Ideal candidates will be experienced in all quality aspects including: Test Automation, Test Planning, Integration Testing, Functional Testing, and Test Execution. Ideal candidates will also possess collaboration skills, problem solving skills and be experienced in agile development.
The Work Itself- Develop test scenarios, feature files and/or test scripts based on user stories
- Designs, builds, and executes test automation scripts for UI and API testing in Web based environment, using Cypress
- Integrate test automation frameworks with the delivery pipeline
- Perform System, Regression, Functional, and End-to-End testing
- Analyze and document defects and work with scrum team for defect resolution
- Investigate and resolve problems when automation test script failures occur
- Develops automation for selected test cases
- Responsible for developing and executing formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications
- Determines testing scope and milestones, following standard practices
- Develops new test standards as applicable
- Leads test scenario reviews; Active participant in 3 Amigos sessions
- Accountable for using standard tools and best practices
- Designs tests based on business functions with a focus on reuse
- Facilitates knowledge sharing, both written and orally among team members
- Incorporates applicable test cases into the regression test suites
- Execute manual test cases as needed, including regression
- Automate Test Cases within sprint
- Reviews and accepts automated test scripts
- Collaborates with others and provides significant contributions to develop specifications to resolve business client questions, problems, and to address enhancement and development needs.
- Uses technical knowledge, creativity and company practices and priorities to obtain solutions to complex problems.
- Interfaces with Tech Delivery Lead, Scrum master, & Product Owners to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding project direction
- REST service standards and design
- API testing working knowledge of Rest and Soap call
The Skills You Bring- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role preferred
- 3+ years of experience in automation scripting
- Knowledge of the software testing discipline and its integration with software development life cycle required
- Ability to develop effective test plans for software testing
- Ability to develop and execute effective plans for quality management, review, and audit
- Ability to track and develop metrics for quality assurance and testing
