The Technology Operations department is seeking a talented and self-motivated SCOM Systems Engineer with a proven track record in managing and supporting Systems Center Operations Management solutions for enterprise environments. The ideal candidates will enjoy working in both a collaborative, team environment and independently to support and manage SCOM. Candidates who thrive in fast paced and sometimes challenging situations will excel with this opportunity.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2012 R2+ in installation, configuration, application support, troubleshooting, and administration.
- Experience with creating, editing, and installing custom Management Packs (MP).
- Experience using the Microsoft Windows PowerShell scripting engine for automation.
- Experience with SquaredUp and dashboard creation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience creating custom reports on results of SCOM monitoring, using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) technologies.
- Experience working with business units and peers to understand and solve challenging technical problems, produce effort estimates, and improve system functionality and reliability.
- Knowledge of server virtualization using VMware or Microsoft Technologies.
- Knowledge of multiple processor systems, and storage area network solutions.
- Extensive experience with major Microsoft technologies including PC and server operating systems, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, and Office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Acts as the main point of contact for all System Center Operations Management tasks.
- Provides operational system administration support for enterprise applications in a high availability, 24x7x365 environment.
- Performs IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging and implementation of applications programs in support of one or more functional areas.
- Analyzes, installs, acquires, modifies, and supports operating systems, database, or utilities software.
- Performs troubleshooting, resolution, and problem analysis.
- Monitor alerting systems and servers.
- Review issues logs and network capacity reports to identify trends and solutions that should be implemented enterprise-wide.
- Maintains in-depth documentation of activities and system configuration.
- Develops custom reports to meet the business needs.
- Drive continual service improvement.
- Prepares systems assessments or certifications.
- Executes test processes and scenarios, track results, and make recommendations of system fixes.
- Assist with disaster recovery initiatives. Implement solutions to streamline disaster recovery.
