Career Evolutions is looking for a Senior Accountant (Payroll) for an international tech company in Phoenix, AZ. It's a full-time career opportunity with a total compensation up to $75,000 + Excellent Benefits.
As a member of the Finance team, you will have great exposure supporting the operational needs of the organization. And, you will perform a variety of complex duties in payroll (70%) and corporate accounting (30%) such as; processing semi-annual payroll, analyzing accounts, preparing reports and performing the monthly financial close and consolidation duties.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Review and / or process semi-monthly payroll for up to 500 employees in the United States
Reconcile and balance payroll accounts and prepare payroll reporting for review and analysis
Perform reconciliations of FSA, HSA, 401(k) and other contributions and resolve discrepancies
Manage all payroll related changes including new hires, compensation increases, benefit deductions, LOA, retro pay, status changes, terminations, tax changes, 401(k), garnishments, etc.
Ensure all non-exempt employee timecards are approved by supervisors in a timely manner and that timecard data is processed accurately and adjustments maded as needed
Provide insurance analysis and calculate corporate allocations
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of W2s and other tax reporting
Partner with Human Resources (HR) for seamless and timely integration for payroll processing
Assist in implementing, writing and maintaining policies and procedures
Provide excellent customer service for internal and external business partners with high degree of client privacy and confidentiality
Assist with year-end payroll audits, workers comp audits, 401(k) audits, and regulatory filings
Assist with year‐end financial audits with external auditors and manage the preparation of audit schedules, data and information
Participate and support month-end closing, financial statement preparations, ensuring data quality and accuracy of accounting treatment within the company
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics
4+ years’ experience in managing and/or processing payroll and related areas preferably with a high tech company
Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Able to prioritize and meet multiple priorities and deadlines
Prior hands-on experience working in general ledger is required
High level of curiosity and ease in working in a complex and rapidly evolving environments
Able to work independently and manage short and long term projects from inception to implementation
Team player attitude and good at building business relationships via strong communication skills/customer service and adaptable to different cultures
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel is required and prior experience in ADP Workforce Now is highly preferred
Strong analytical skills, excellent business accruement, attention to detail
Self-driven and highly motivated team-player with excellent communication skills in an international environment
