Career Evolutions is searching for a VP, Human Resources for a fast-growing company headquartered in Phoenix, AZ. Full-time, direct-hire opportunity with competitive compensation package.

Job Title: VP, Human Resources

Job Summary: Reporting directly to the COO, you will be responsible for the efficient utilization of human capital within the company, compliance with employment laws and regulations, and the development and implementation of policies, practices and human resources strategies in support of the company’s business plan and strategic direction. You will be responsible for extensive personal contact with internal business leaders, as well as oversight of direct reports within the Human Resources Department. A high level of integrity, tact, diplomacy and discretion is required in this position.

You will work closely with executive management and the Legal Department and  develop strategies and programs to be carried out by the HR Department team. You will drive the company’s culture, further its vision and mission through its human capital, and create employment-related initiatives to facilitate the company’s successful achievement of its objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop appropriate policies and programs for effective talent and performance management of the company’s human capital.
  • Advises management to ensure company compliance with all federal, state and local laws related to employee benefits, compensation, employment and training. Remains current with changes in human resource and employment law and manages company relationships with state and local regulatory agencies, implementing appropriate processes to avert litigation and administrative claims by employees.
  • Develops organizational policies and programs that embrace applicants and employees of diverse backgrounds and support the full development and performance of all employees at the Company. 
  • Recommends and implements organizational development activities and other initiatives to drive the company’s long and short-term objectives.
  • Oversees the design, development and cost structure of proactive compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance and that promote the short and long-range health and welfare of the employees, and assures efficient delivery and service of programs.
  • Develops staffing plans and oversees search practices; evaluates recruiting programs for cost effectiveness and quality of hires.
  • Implements human resources information systems, strategic partnerships and vendors that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the company.  
  • Continue improving programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational issues of the organization relating to its human capital.
  • Creates talent management programs to foster high employee retention and effective employee relations.
  • Serves as internal consultant to managers in employee situations in which discipline is joint responsibility of HR and the employee's supervisor.
  • Advises management regarding all employee terminations; oversee all aspects of employee terminations.
  • Responsible for wage and salary administration, with particular emphasis on compliance with annual salary budget.
  • Oversees personnel record keeping related to new hires, employee reviews, promotions, transfers, separations and exit interviews.
  • Analyzes wage and salary reports, and/or conduct job analyses to establish the specific requirements of individual jobs within each department for the creation and oversight of job descriptions.
  • Managing the budget of the HR Department.    

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources
  • 10+ years’ of Human Resources experience in a corporate multi-state environment
  • SPHR Certification
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Federal and state labor laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to investigate and resolve complex employee relations issues.
  • Proven ability to build a team, hold people accountable for results and provide periodic performance feedback. 
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Protects confidential information and sensitive materials.
  • Works methodically and is highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Manages time efficiently and ability to manage multiple priorities without missing deadlines
  • Fosters teamwork, communication and mutual respect throughout the company
