Career Evolutions is looking for a Server Systems Admin for a trucking company in Phoenix. Full time, direct-hire role with pay of up to $70k.
Job Title: Server Systems Admin
Job Summary: You will assist and support the Infrastructure Manager in administering, managing and maintaining the successful and continue operation for the company's server and storage infrastructure. You will perform upgrades, installations, backups/restores and troubleshooting of servers, server-based applications and connectivity of client and other computing resources to servers.
Job Responsibilities:
Assists and supports the Sr. System Administrator in delivering professional quality computer expertise to the Information Technology department through the administration of the company’s servers.
Implements best practices for administering and securing the company’s servers and storage devices/applications.
Assists and supports the Sr. System Administrator in managing, monitoring, and maintaining all of the company’s servers, virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V), backup/restore functions and the other Microsoft applications listed below.
Assists and supports the Sr. System Administrator in managing, updating, and troubleshooting VMWare/Hyper-V in an ESX/SAN environment with EMC Avamar backups.
Participates in providing server performance monitoring, reporting, evaluation, and optimization.
Proactively and assertively addresses issues as they arise.
Assists in diagnosing server problems and making repairs as directed.
Participates in developing and documenting procedures for managing the company’s servers, including the development and testing of business continuity plans.
Installs, configures, and troubleshoots server operating systems, network operating systems, and server-based application software as directed.
Serves as a Level 2 resource to the Network Support Center for resolving server-related problems, both during and after hours.
Participates in staffing on call rotation for after-hours support, as needed.
Coordinates with Team at various levels within the company and with vendors and consultants, as directed.
Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 year of hands-on experience configuring Microsoft Windows Servers.
Hands-on experience with VMWare, ESX/SAN, Hyper-V, Microsoft Windows Servers.
Operational understanding of: IP-based network technologies; computer-related security issues as they relate to securing Microsoft Windows Servers; VPNs and VLANs.
Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals.
Ability to analyze and integrate information from relevant sources – Creative Problem Solving.
Remains composed under stress and takes personal responsibility for delivering on personal and organizational commitments.
Solid problem solving skills and ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities in a focused manner – Critical Thinking.
Work well and efficiently with other Team Members spanning all areas of IT and its departments.
