Career Evolutions is looking for a Network Administrator for a franchising company that has a growing IT department. Contract position with a compensation up to $31 an hour.
Job Title: Network Administrator
Job Summary: Responsible for all aspects of Network Administration including servers, desktop systems, communication hardware/software and other office systems such as printers, scanners, surveillance systems and AV equipment. Also performs a variety of complex tasks and projects, streamlines processes, provisions cloud based applications, manages routers, firewalls, backup systems and secures computing environments.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain network performance to drive efficiency and high availability; test and evaluate network systems to eliminate problems and make adjustments as necessary.
Optimize network performance by monitoring usage & performance, troubleshooting network problems & outages, and scheduling upgrades.
Maintain on premise and off-site backups.
Troubleshoot any and all issues with clinic and corporate hardware including but not limited to servers, workstations, routers, firewalls, switches, multi-function copiers, mobile devices, AV equipment, etc.
Troubleshoot and resolve any and all issues pertaining to software for clinics and corporate including, but not limited to, Windows 7, Microsoft Office Suite, Millennium POS, Adobe suite, etc.
Establish network specifications by conferring with users and by analyzing workflow, access, information, & security requirements.
Establish and secure networking environment by designing system configuration standards and policies.
Meet financial and change control requirements by submitting all proposed changes to the Director of Infrastructure & Operations prior to implementation.
Collaborate with the Security, Applications and Service Desk teams as necessary.
Use best methodologies to keep the network technologies current and compliant with all defined security standards.
Assist service desk personnel in solving non-routine or complex software & hardware issues.
Resolve issues within the POS software and support franchisees within the capabilities of the software using customer service and communication skills.
Respond to Tier 2 escalations on a timely manner.
Work closely with the Systems Engineer and the Network Engineer.
Assist with monitoring and throttling bandwidth based on priority of business applications.
Assist with process improvement and documentation.
Travel to data centers and other company affiliates when necessary.
Direct contact with all corporate and business unit personnel.
Direct contact with Regional Developers, Franchisees and other personnel.
Direct contact with IT services vendors.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems related program
5-7 years of experience in core Network Administrator responsibilities
Microsoft & CompTIA certifications
Experience and willingness for on-call support and working in normal business hours (8AM - 5PM)
Experience working with Windows server & client operating systems
Experience working with Mac server & client operating systems
Demonstrated working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols
Experience with managing virtualized environments (Hyper-V and VMware)
Experience with network management and monitoring software
Experience with configuring and maintaining firewalls, routers, access points, managed switches
Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously
