Career Evolutions is searching for an Applications Systems Administrator for a fast-growing transportation company headquartered in Phoenix, AZ. Full-time, direct-hire opportunity with compensation up to $75,000.

Job Title: Applications Systems Administrator

Job Summary: You will assists and support the Sr. Applications Administrator in administering, managing, and maintaining the successful and continued operation of the company’s applications and operating systems infrastructure. You will be responsible for upgrades, installations, developments and troubleshooting of applications, operating systems and access & reliability of all software deployments.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists and supports the Sr. Applications Administrator in delivering professional quality computer expertise to the Information Technology department through the administration of the company’s applications.
  • Implements best practices for administering and securing the company’s applications.
  • Assists and supports the Sr. Applications Administrator in managing, monitoring, and maintaining all of the company’s applications, virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V), Office365 and Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008r2, 2012, 2012r2.
  • Assists and supports the Sr. Applications Administrator in managing, developing, and troubleshooting Windows Powershell specifically for MSOL, O365, and Exchange.
  • Participates in providing application performance monitoring, reporting, evaluation, and optimization.
  • Proactively and assertively addresses issues as they arise.
  • Assists in diagnosing application & OS problems and making repairs as directed.
  • Participates in developing and documenting procedures for managing the company’s software, including the development and testing of business continuity plans.
  • Installs, configures, and troubleshoots server operating systems, network operating systems, and server-based application software as directed.
  • Serves as a Level 2 resource to the Network Support Center for resolving application-related problems, both during and after hours.
  • Participates in staffing on call rotation for after-hours support, as needed.
  • Coordinates with Team at various levels within the company and with vendors and consultants, as directed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience configuring Microsoft Windows Server OS .
  • Hands-on experience with VMWare, Hyper-V, Microsoft Windows Servers, SCCM, SCOM.
  • Operational understanding of: IP-based network technologies; computer-related security issues as they relate to securing Microsoft Windows Servers; VPNs and VLANs.
  • Ability to analyze and integrate information from relevant sources.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Creative, self-motivated problem solver who can think on their feet and resolve issues with minimal direction.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team.

Ideal Skills:

  • Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008r2, 2012, 2012r2 experience
  • Office365 experience
  • Exchange 2007 and above experience
  • Remote Application/Remote Desktop Server 2008 and 2012
  • SCCM
  • SCOM
  • VMWare
  • HyperV
  • Windows Powershell specifically for MSOL, O365, and Exchange
  • Windows clients XP, 7, and 8
  • Windows File and print
  • Basic understanding of networking including DNS and DHCP
  • AD administration experience in ADUC
  • Basic Windows Clustering / Failover Cluster Manager
  • Familiar with SQL Studio Manager
  • Basic Knowledge of backups and best practices
  • An understanding of ODBC Connections
  • Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains & CRM
  • Pegasus/Transflo Administration
