Our client is looking for a Fulltime/Perm Senior BI Consultant who will be responsible for the design, development, implementation and support of Cognos BI reports within their organization.
Responsibilities:- Gather and document BI reporting requirements to meet business needs and translate into technical requirements.
- Design and implement BI reporting applications
- Design and support a platform providing ad-hoc access to large datasets
- Debug and troubleshoot
- Identify critical areas of the data structure and recommends improvements to existing reports and provide BI best practices
- Provide training and assistance to users on ad-hoc reporting
- Documents data systems, processes, and technical Meta data.
Skills:- 10 years of experience in BI/DW implementation and development, majority of experience must be in Cognos BI
- Experience working with enterprise-scale reports and dashboards with ability to migrate large enterprise BI solutions/platform/architecture
- Hands-on experience with BI Tools – Cognos
- Knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts (relational and dimensional)
- High proficiency writing SQL
- Understanding the concept of relational databases
- Highly experienced in working with DW / data mall / data stores OLAP Cube
- Dimensional Modeling skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with C#, JavaScript, a plus
- BA/BS in computer Science, or equivalent combination of experience, education and training
- Healthcare industry (hospital, provider, managed care)
