Career Evolutions is searching for a Rail Services Coordinator for an oil & energy company in Tempe, AZ. Full-time, direct-hire opportunity with compensation up to $23/hour.

Job Title: Rail Services Coordinator

Job Summary: You will perform a wide variety of duties related to the rail transportation of commodities to service all rail operations. You will also be responsible for the proper coordination and documentation of all shipments and receipts into all refineries and facilities in accordance with all federal, state, and municipal codes.

Responsibilities:
  • Requires monitoring of railcar inventory on a daily basis and maintaining proper disposition including commodities and regulatory status.
  • Responsible for preparing documentation for shipped/received railcars and ensuring all documentation is in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Provides customers and regulatory agencies with information and documentation upon request.
  • Track and trace all shipments updating pertinent information from origination to destination.
  • Maintain contact with freight companies to ensure the shipper and consignee are aware of any challenges or issues that may arise. Work efficiently and effectively to resolve those issue.
  • Establishes transportation metrics, track and reports results.
  • Performs all other duties as requested by Marketing and Commercial groups.
Skills/ Requirements:                                                                                                                            
  • High School Diploma and 3+ years refining, logistics, supply chain or marketing experience.
  • 2+ years of shipping knowledge of direct rail providers including their compatibility, ramp to ramp operations, and intermodal capabilities preferred.
  • Must be certified or willing to become certified within six months of employment in all required Department of Transportation, OSHA and American Railroad Administration requirements deemed necessary to be in compliance.
  • Must possess the flexibility to work shifts, which will be based upon the needs of the department, to include evening and/or weekend hours.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a collaborative team based environment. Knowledge of principle railroads lanes and operations. Manage and process data for use by self or others using word processing, spreadsheets, or graphics software programs.
  • Possess excellent computer and Microsoft Excel skills along with strong 10-key skills.
  • Knowledge of management systems and associated databases. Incumbent must be able to analyze large data sets, formulate a position and convey a message to all levels of the organization in a concise manner.
  • Must possess written communication skills to compose letters, memos, and basic reports. Also must have oral communication skills to communicate with customers, co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Must possess interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with others in order to coordinate activities and arrive at mutual decisions. Must have the ability to read, understand and apply documents, such as procedure manuals, reports, and correspondences. Requires the ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
  • Must be able to provide a high level of customer service by answering questions, supporting other employees, providing accurate information, and responding to requests on a timely basis. Possess the ability to plan and schedule activities over the course of a month including identification of resources, implementation, monitoring, and follow-up activities.
  • Must be able to identify, define, and solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations, work effectively with supervisory guidance and be able to work with all levels of personnel, from loading personnel to Senior Management.
