Career Evolutions is URGENTLY searching for a SQL DBA for a transportation company in North Phoenix AZ. Full time position direct hire opportunity with compensation of up to $97k DOE.

Job Title: SQL DBA

Job Summary:
You are largely responsible for providing operational database services to the organization. Primary responsibilities include owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs, reviewing service related reports (e.g: database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs, responding to database related alerts and escalations and coming up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.
 
You will also be responsible in working with data and generating reports for the business intelligence team. The company is working on having the database team and business intelligence team work together for future operations. You will provide support to both teams when necessary.


Requirements:

Must haves
  • 5+ years’ experience as a SQL database admin/developer.
  • 5+ years’ experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence stack.
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
  • Experience in working with disparate data and working through challenges of combining those data sources for reporting.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of how to maximize SQL Services.
 
Nice to haves
  • Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Proficient in SQL Scripting, Stored Procedures and TSQL.
  • Experience in failover clustering, SAN replication, and other high availability technologies
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server.
  • Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations.
