Due to our exceptional growth and success, we are recruiting for a Patient Services Representative to join our team in Columbus, OH!

SUMMARY
 
Responsible for patient services coordination as defined by policy and regulation while under the supervision of a pharmacist.  The duties include contacting patients and gathering essential information for the ongoing care of those patients.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation. 
  1. Gather, organize, document, and report patient data for review and action by the patient care team (pharmacist, nurse, prescriber) to include:
    1. Demographic information
    2. Changes in existing patient data
    3. Drug and supply inventory on hand.
    4. Compliance to therapy (yes/no).
    5. Patient overall well-being (yes/no).
    6. Physician appointments, nursing visits (agency), hospitalizations
  2. Enter patient data into the pharmacy system as custom assessments or progress notes as defined by policy and communicate information to appropriate staff.
  3. Generate supply portion of delivery tickets and equipment pick-up tickets.
  4. Generate pharmacy and clinical reports from CPR as directed.
  5. Assist in maintaining the accuracy of CPR templates.
  6. Complete all necessary paperwork, forms, and records according to policy.
  7. Solid knowledge of, and compliance with, BioScrip policies and procedures.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.  
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • No supervisory responsibilities.   

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach outward, and handle/finger.
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach above shoulder, climb, crawl, squat, kneel and bend.
  • The employee must be able to frequently push/pull 15lbs or less and occasionally push/pull up to 50lbs.
  • The employee must be able to lift/carry up to 15lbs frequently and up to 35lbs occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. 
WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.
  • May occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 
High School Diploma; At least 18 years of age; One year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified strongly preferred.   
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Ability to read, analyze and interpret pharmacy and clinical information appropriate to duties and responsibilities assigned.  Ability to operate information systems, follow policy, complete required forms, prepare reports.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from patients, employees, and the general public. 
 
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as quantities, frequency of use, forecasting future use.  Ability to read and interpret compounding, inventory, and delivery documents.
 
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of abstract variables.
