Job Description: Reporting directly to the CFO you’ll be responsible for establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, and procedures. You will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process by performing various general accounting and reporting responsibilities.
You will participate with the coordination and monitoring of the account reconciliation process, perform month-end close activities, including preparation of monthly and quarterly journal entries, review journal entries and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness, respond to external auditor requests, and assist with quarter-end and year-end audit schedules. You will gather, analyze, interpret, prepare and reconcile complex financial information to support the preparation of financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA a plus
5+ years hands-on experience in accounting and finance preferably in education industry
Hands-on experience overseeing monthly close process, including financial analysis and preparation of various month-end deliverables
Strong cash flow statement experience
Proficient in financial systems including QuickBooks
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups)
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements
Detailed oriented and ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
