JOB DESCRIPTION
• Responsible for the development, delivery, and maintenance of moderately complex point-of-sale solutions and associated services.
• May include front-line management responsibilities for 2-5 product support staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop POS product requirements.
• Manage project teams consisting of engineering, operations, finance, and other representatives.
• Develop test cases and scripts to ensure adequate testing of all components from authorization through capture, settlement, funding, and billing.
• Ensure that all transactions qualify for preferred interchange.
• Help with systems and user documentation associated with the development of new products.
• Respond to product-related questions, and identify and resolve problems.
• Manage the development of product information materials for use by staff and clients.
• Work with clients and sales organizations to identify appropriate POS solutions based on merchant needs.
• Provide sales support for a wide range of industries that have a need for payment processing.
• Provide after-hours product hotline support on a rotating schedule.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• 5-10 years detailed POS product development experience including e-commerce, gateway, network, and terminal solutions.
• At least 3-4 years of experience managing mid-sized development projects that generate moderate revenue.
• Demonstrated ability to manage successfully projects with limited management oversight, including timelines, tasks, teams, group dynamics, etc.
• Strong familiarity with the EIS 1080 and 1081 message format specifications.
• Strong understanding of all facets of the transaction process, from interchange to pricing to account setup, authorization, settlement, funding, and reporting.
• Ability to analyze and compare complex product features so that developed product solutions are viable and competitive.
• Ability to create technical documentation for use by engineers to build and maintain product applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, project management, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability for providing effective sales support, including ability to identify solutions for merchants with moderately complex needs.
• Fluid use of Microsoft Office and Project.
• Able to effectively manage multiple moderate-sized projects and priorities at the same time.
• 3-6 years of staff management experience if required to manage staff.
