Career Evolutions is searching for a Senior Database Administrator for a global high-tech company based in Tempe, AZ. Full-time position with compensation up to $110,000 + Bonus.
Job Title: Senior Database Administrator
Job Summary: You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a best-in-class infrastructure with strict availability and performance requirements. You will work across functional boundaries to help architect scalable solutions to support service delivery, and use your extensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server including high availability configurations, replication, multi-site data warehousing, summarization, maintenance, and reporting. You have expert knowledge of data management, data access, and following core data management principles, will perform query optimization, as well as debug and solve any performance and load related problems quickly and efficiently.
You will develop high performance relational databases to store service delivery, transaction and billing data, collaborate with development team on the design and implementation of database services, data stores, stored procedures, and replication, and manage the design and implementation of security and data access methods to ensure services are properly controlled, monitored, and audited. You will develop and implement maintenance and administration procedures for database systems including the usage of metrics to ensure optimal performance, proactively monitor database system status to determine early warning signs of issues, and establish summarized and scalable data schema to deliver high performance historical reporting and near-real-time data feeds.
You will author, document and maintain scripts to perform various aspects of data management and system administration, create, document, and maintain data schema and data dictionaries, ensure that backups are performed regularly on all databases, evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to scale our data infrastructure for future customer growth and new products, and investigate performance anomalies and perform root cause analysis for database and interface issues.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
10+ years of experience in database design, logical/physical data modeling/design, data security and ETL development
7+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server including performance tuning and troubleshooting
7+ years implementing or maintaining stored procedures, views and triggers
MySQL DBA experience, and high availability of MySQL databases, is also a plus
Excellent knowledge of Transact-SQL and XML required while experience in Perl, Java and C#
Proven ability to manage projects through their entire software development life cycle
Experience in SSIS or similar ETL tools and strong knowledge of data relationships, normalization and summarization
Adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment and excellent communication skills
