Southeastern Metal Products is currently looking for a Welding Manager for their Plant in Charlotte NC.
 
The Welding Manager will be responsible for the overall setup, operation and performance of the Mig, Tig and robotic welding stations. They will plan, schedule and coordinate department activities and schedules in cooperation with the Production Control Manager to ensure on time deliveries to customers while maintaining quality products and safety.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for overall production of the Welding Department.
  • Providing direction and support to the Welding Department and ensuring all welding activities are performed in accordance with company and client standards.
  • Locating scheduled jobs for daily production via report from Production Control or VP of Manufacturing direction.
  • Addressing any production issues and implementing new strategies and improvements.
  • Assisting Quality Control personnel in overall efforts to provide customers with high quality products and service and to take part in MRB’s as needed.
  • Recommending purchase of new equipment, tools, machinery and changes in plant layout.
  • Assisting to preserve and track upkeep of current equipment, tools and machinery.
  • Responsible for set up, programming and maintenance of robotic welders.
  • Filling out move tags and charging time correctly in production planning software.
  • Performing setups of complex weld fixtures and first piece inspections for jobs.
  • Maintaining productivity and efficiency standards based on scheduling, customer and staffing needs.
  • Effectively provide feedback to mentor employees
 
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of all welding processes, including Mig, Tig and robotic welding operation and programming.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with managers and coworkers both written and verbally.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret measuring instruments.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of production planning software (Job Boss).
  • Ability to schedule, organize and plan effectively.
  • Strong ability to perform mathematical computations critical to documenting correct counts for inventory and bill of material processing.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience managing welding operations in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
  • Must have a high school diploma. Associate, Bachelor or Technical degree preferred or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Must be available to work 1st shift.
 
Compensation
$50,000-$65,000 DOE
