The Applications Database Manager will be part of the Oracle CTO team and will be responsible for the 24/7/365 support of fast changing the production hosted environments.
The ideal candidate comes with deep, technical database knowledge and scripting skills. Must be customer-centric, goal-oriented, self-directed and have the ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously with an untiring dedication to operational excellence.
Primary role of this position is to manage a team of application database administrators in Italy and abroad. This is hand on technical manager position. The scope of these responsibilities include designing, implementing, and standardizing policies and procedures in the areas of optimizing application use of SQL and the ETL Infrastructure that feeds reporting capabilities.
This position’s responsibilities include:
• Mentor application database administrator and grow application DBA to next level
• Working with customers to optimize application performance
• Troubleshooting back end work flow of ETL and Reporting infrastructure.
• Work with the Engineering teams to resolve application defects
• Provide suggestions to improve the application scalability, performance, and monitoring of the ETL and Reporting infrastructure.
• Proactively monitoring various environments.
• Understanding customer priorities and addressing them within the DBA Team
• Working closely with other operation team members to provide 24x7 supports of ETL and reporting infrastructure.
• Interface with Oracle Corporation in US facing teams such as Technical Support and Account Management to help drive resolution of specific issues related to ETL / Reporting.
Brief Description:
Work with a world class team to develop, implement, and support cutting edge Oracle technology. Manages a team maintaining and/or implementing software project(s) and/or internal systems. Defines, documents and manages scope, expectations, implementation approach, deliverables and acceptance testing criteria.
Key Requirements include:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in technical area or 10 years or more equivalent experience
- Candidate must have a proven ability to successfully manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- The candidate must be comfortable working with production applications in multiple areas of the business pipeline and demonstrate consideration of the bigger picture when identifying solutions.
- The candidate must be comfortable working in an environment requiring 24x7 supports.
- Candidate must be willing to learn additional platforms and applications as the position will require supporting of multiple platforms and applications.
- Great analytical, problem solving, decision-making, leadership and communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Exceptional customer service orientation.
- Ability to commit and deliver measure result with tight projects and task timeline
- Ability in writing SQL statements and analyzing query performance in an Oracle RDBMS and Microsoft OLAP environment.
Prefered Skills:
Hands on experience with Relational Database Systems (Mysql, Oracle) and Microsoft Olap analysis service in SaaS Applications environement.
