Essential Duties
 
The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.
  • Utilizes the nursing process to assess, interview, triage, educate and implement the plan of care for the clients.
  • Serves as Charge Nurse by assessing clinic flow, problem-solving, delegating duties and tasks to appropriate staff, creating clinic assignments to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Performs nursing skills as a clinic nurse; administers injections and vaccines; assists with procedures.
  • Collaborates and communicates with providers, staff and clients to meet agency goals and objectives; ensures appropriate and timely care.
  • Performs data entry and follow-up with immunization inventory using the North Carolina Immunization Registry.
  • Performs duties as a triage nurse by assessing walk-in clients; completes follow-up activities for clients.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
 
Nurses with Maternity and Family Planning experience are needed and public health experience is preferred. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing which includes a public health nursing rotation and one year of nursing experience; OR graduation from an accredited school of nursing and two years of nursing experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be licensed by the state of North Carolina as an RN (Please include copy of Nursing License with application). A valid BCLS CPR certification required. Must have a valid driver’s license. The candidates selected must undergo a criminal background check and pass a pre-employment drug screening test prior to employment.
