We are searching for an Electro-Instrumental Lead Design Engineer for our O&G client.
Role Summary/Purpose:
- The Electro-Instrumental (EI) Design Engineer is accountable for the production of the detailed engineering for testing according to his/her mastering discipline.
- He/She works closely with the Turbo-Machinery Laboratory Mechanical Design, Process & Technology, Operative and Test Engineering, Metrology and Sourcing teams during the study, design, procurement, erection and test executions aimed to the validation of New Products & components.
Essential Responsibilities:The EI Design Engineer (DE) will produce and issue/revise the technical documentation related to LV systems integration/automation design which in particular defines:
- The dimensioning and/or selection (i.e. datasheets and technical specifications).
- The application, installation and use (i.e. layouts, hook-ups, wiring and operation instructions) of electrical and automation devices (i.e. motors, actuators and power distribution & management), enclosures (i.e. cabinets, panels, JB), Transducers (i.e. CT, VT, PT, TT), Conditioning electronics and acquisition/control devices (i.e. PLC and DCS), industrial busses.
- Communication protocols in order to design the testing of components and prototypes of rotating machines usually installed in EU based test benches.
The Design Engineer (DE) will also be responsible of data entry on dBs related to HW and measurement requirements and settings. During the day to day work activities the DE will:- Assess measures requirements and costs/risks vs. process and working conditions, installation constrains of transducers and measure systems.
- Perform state of the art research, evaluate and validate new transducers, conditioning systems and measuring devices.
- Verify off-the-shelf products characteristics vs. technical specs or vendors capability.
- Support during installation/operation phases and facilitate RCAs Either the Lead Engineer / Technologist demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs and processes for an area or business segment.
In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
- Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
- Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Bachelor of Science in Engineering oriented to in electric systems or industrial automation disciplines (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of engineering, scientific or other technical experience)
At least 3 additional years of experience in an engineering position or PHD related to the mentioned disciplines
Fluent in English
MS Office proficiency and 2D CAD tool familiarity
Familiar with electrical devices and measure/control loops applied to O&G industrial environment
Fair knowledge about EMC/EMI and Hazardous area regulations/standards
Awareness of EC directives and their applications to electrical devices and systems
Strong communication skills and aptitude to team working
Initiative, proactivity, dynamism and team coordination skills
